Liverpool's quest towards winning the Premier League title has taken an unexpected bruising at the hands of Fulham.

By the 38th minute, goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Alexander Iwobi and Rodrigo Muniz - all with obvious Liverpool defensive faults - meant Fulham had taken control.

In the second period Luis Diaz emerged from the bench to halve the deficit, but even after Slot turned more times to his substitutes to end the contest with five attackers on the field, they were unable to salvage at least a point.

After this shock, Liverpool now have seven games to seal their second Premier League title in the past five years, which would also be a record-equalling 20th English top-flight title.
