Liverpool are keeping tabs on Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara, Rousing The Kop understands.
The Reds are set to undergo one of their biggest squad overhauls in years this summer with Liverpool eyeing at least five new signings, with Arne Slot keen to improve his squad heading into next season as Premier League champions.
Liverpool’s main priority is a left-back, with AFC Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez the favourite to join the Anfield giants as Jorrel Hato also remains an option for the Reds after another impressive season with Ajax.
Yet away from the defence, a new midfielder is also on the agenda for the Reds, with Liverpool now monitoring Kamara’s situation at Villa heading into the summer.

Speaking exclusively to RTK, journalist Graeme Bailey has said that Liverpool are ‘looking’ at Kamara as a potential option this summer, though a defensive midfielder is not seen by the Reds as a priority in the transfer window.
Kamara has been a regular for Villa this season with the France international starting six of the Villians’ eight UEFA Champions League games, with the former Olympique Marseille star also making 19 appearances in the Premier League.
And for Liverpool, Kamara is now an option for the Reds, though the Anfield side are not the only team keeping an eye on the 25-year-old, who this summer could leave with Villa unwilling to award the midfielder a new contract.

Bailey told RTK: “He really has been one of the stand-out midfielders this year in the Premier League, so it’s no shock that Liverpool are abreast of his progress.
Liverpool are not the only club looking, and that has alerted Aston Villa, who are not looking to tie him down.
“I don’t believe a holding midfielder is seen as a priority for Liverpool this summer given the outstanding form of Ryan Gravenberch – for me the Premier League’s most improved player – but also Curtis Jones and his ability to fill that role.
“That said Liverpool need to be aware of what is out there, they need know the best options for them if they made a move, and Kamara fits that bill, like a Baleba etc.”

Kamara has been linked with Liverpool in the past, with the Villa Park midfielder once one of the most coveted players in all of Europe when the France international departed Marseille as a free-agent, with Villa ultimately winning the race.
Two years on from that saga, and a move to Liverpool could be back on the agenda for Kamara, though whether or not the switch actually makes sense this summer is another question entirely, especially with other positions needing work.
Indeed, Liverpool need to prioritise the defence as well as the attack before looking to bring in a midfielder, and as good as Kamara is, other options should be considered before the Reds weigh up a move for the 25-year-old.
