Loris Karius' career was never the same after the fateful Champions League final of 2018.
It may have brought an end to his playing days at Liverpool, though the goalkeeper seems to have found a new welcome home in Schalke 04 capped by high praise from his manager following a stunning debut.
Though proven to have happened with the suffering of concussion, the nightmare second-half in Kyiv in which Karius made a costly error for Karim Benzema's opener, then spilled Gareth Bale's hopeful attempt from distance into his own goal proved to be the final time he wore Liverpool colours.

"It’s always a difficult decision [to change the goalkeeper].

The former Reds stopper made five saves on his debut to be exact - his most critical being a stoppage-time double save to deny Niko Koulis and then David Kinsombi in succession, thus cementing the victory for his new club.
It also prompted opposition head coach Sascha Hildmann to crown him 'the best player' on the field.
With this new turning point in his career, the 31-year-old wrote on Instagram: "Back doing what I love.
