Luis Suarez has praised Darwin Nunez's resilience after the striker responded to criticism following his performance in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
The Uruguayan international, who came on as a second-half substitute at Villa Park, missed a golden opportunity to put the Reds ahead, leading to a wave of criticism.
When asked about Nunez's performance in his press conference ahead of traveling to Manchester City, Liverpool head coach Arne Slot said it was not the miss that annoyed him.
Instead it was the reaction from the 25-year-old, whose confidence dropped.
"I can accept every miss, especially from a player who scored two very important goals away at Brentford and that scored for us in the home game against Villa [in November]," Slot said.
"I would prefer him to score but the word 'chance' says it all.
