Luis Suarez has celebrated Liverpool’s title win but was left to rue what could have been during his time at Anfield.
Arne Slot's side needed only to draw with Tottenham Hotspur to be crowned Premier League champions but sealed their triumph in style with a joyous 5-1 home win.
The scenes of jubilation were a long time coming for Liverpool fans, whose celebrations of their last title win in 2020 were limited by the Covid-19 pandemic.
An Anfield crowd had not savoured winning the league since 1990, but Suarez previously spoke of his disappointment at not ending the title drought in 2014.
The Liverpool hero did not get another chance to win the Premier League as he completed a big-money move to Barcelona that summer.
"I know some Liverpool supporters were angry with me because I celebrated a goal against Liverpool here in Camp Nou [last season], and for that, I am so sad.
"I accept that, and I say that hopefully they understand my situation: we were playing at home and in the Champions League semi-final.

"I lived one of the best moments of my life there, and I think the supporters didn't forget how my attitude was in the Liverpool shirt.
Now, hopefully, they are so happy with the Premier League trophy this year."
After remarkably coming back from 3-0 down to defeat Barcelona in their semi-final clash, Liverpool won their sixth European Cup by beating Spurs in the 2019 Champions League final.
Suarez scored 31 goals in 33 games, equalling Cristiano Ronaldo ’s then-Premier League record for a 38-game season.
By late April 2014, Liverpool were in a commanding position after moving to the top of the table with an 11-game winning streak.
