Many players who once played in Europe’s top leagues eventually make the move to Major League Soccer.
Some go for the challenge, others for a fresh start.
In recent years, big names have joined the league, bringing experience and quality to American and Canadian clubs.
Now, another former Liverpool player could be heading across the Atlantic.
His time in Europe has seen highs and lows.
He was once a key figure for his club, helping them win major silverware.
But this season has been different.
A lack of playing time has left him on the sidelines.
His current team is not counting on him, and his contract is set to expire in June.
With no place in the manager’s plans, a move to MLS is now a real possibility.
MLS side looking to sign former Liverpool midfielder
According to Relevo, former Liverpool man Suso, is attracting string interest from MLS side Toronto FC.
The Cadiz native was instrumental in Sevilla’s seventh Europa League title, but his role has diminished this season.
He has played just ten matches and is not in García Pimienta’s plans.
With his contract running out, Sevilla is open to letting him go early to save on wages.
Toronto FC has already made contact and is “accelerating its efforts to sign” the midfielder, according to Relevo.
The Canadian club is struggling, sitting bottom of the Eastern Conference after three losses and a draw.
They see Suso as a much-needed addition.
This could be Suso’s “third adventure abroad” after playing for Liverpool, AC Milan, and Genoa.
His final minutes for Sevilla came in a 4-1 defeat to Barcelona, where he was subbed in when the team was already losing.
His relationship with Pimienta is “completely distant”, and there is “no room for him in the manager’s plans” despite his talent.
Now, it’s up to Suso to decide if it’s time to leave Europe behind.
