Liverpool are ready to battle Manchester City to sign Juventus fullback Andrea Cambiaso as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Alexander-Arnold’s future remains uncertain as a potential Real Madrid move edges closer despite the Reds’ attempt to keep the English fullback.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are one point away from securing the Premier League title and securing their historic 20th English League title. The Reds’ head coach, Arne Slot, succeeded Jurgen Klopp and put his faith in the team he inherited last summer.

After signing only Federico Chiesa from Juventus, Slot used the current season to assess the team he got from Klopp. The Dutchman has now thoroughly assessed the squad, and Liverpool intends to use the summer window to recruit players accordingly.

Liverpool battle Manchester City to sign Juventus fullback Andrea Cambiaso

According to the Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb, Liverpool are ready to challenge Man City to sign Cambiaso from Juventus next summer. The 25-year-old Italian fullback would cost around €60m, but challenging high-spending Man City is a daunting task for the Reds.

While Cambiaso could replace Alexander-Arnold, the 25-year-old is equally capable of playing at the left flank or centrally when required. The Italy international is comfortable with both of his feet despite having a dominant left foot, complementing his playing style.

The 25-year-old is excellent on his feet, capable of playing any variety of role, which Slot seeks in his fullbacks. Cambiaso has excellent ball-carrying ability and is press-resistant due to his game intelligence and strong first touch when in possession.

The Italy international has an impressive technical ability to make pinpoint crosses and passes from any position in the field. Cambiasso boasts 91.9% passing accuracy, along with 83.3% long ball accuracy and a 61% dribbling success in the Serie A.
