David Ornstein has revealed the clubs that will rival Liverpool in their pursuit of Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez is one of the several names that Liverpool are interested in signing this summer.
As widely reported, it is going to be a busy summer for Liverpool.
The Reds are on the verge of sealing the Premier League title, but plans are already on ground to make the squad stronger next season.
Arne Slot confirmed that it will be a busy summer for the club.
Virgil van Dijk also confirmed that he expects the club to be busy when the transfer window opens.
It is safe to assume that several players could leave and be added to the squad this summer.
David Ornstein named six players who could leave, with Darwin Nunez expected to be one of the first names on the exit door.
If Nunez is almost guaranteed to leave, it is also certain that Liverpool will at least make an effort to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.
The Hungarian has established himself as one of the best defenders in the top flight this season, with his defensive tenacity and creativity one of the major reasons Bournemouth are fighting for a top-half finish.
Several reliable sources have named Liverpool as an interested party. However, the Reds will face a huge fight to sign the 21-year-old as it has been revealed that several clubs, including fellow Premier League side Manchester City, are also interested in signing him.
This is according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who claims that Liverpool are joined in their interest in Kerkez by Pep Guardiola’s side, as well as Serie A sides Napoli and AC Milan.
The journalist made this revelation while speaking to US-based news network, NBC.
City and Liverpool have a history of fighting for players?
While the Reds have enjoyed a more successful campaign, the Cityzens did beat them to the signing of Omar Marmoush recently.
However, Liverpool fans will hope that Kerkez’s relationship with Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai will sway the defender towards Anfield.
