Fulham face a tough test this weekend as they prepare to take on Premier League leaders Liverpool.
With the Reds enjoying an exceptional season under Arne Slot, the stakes could not be higher.
Liverpool has been in impressive form, especially on the road, where they have yet to lose a Premier League match this season.
Fulham, who held Liverpool to a draw at Anfield earlier in the season, know they’ll have to be at their absolute best to challenge them again.
In his pre-match press conference, Fulham manager Marco Silva acknowledged the challenge Liverpool presents.
He pointed out that the Reds’ consistency has been one of the key factors in their success this season.
However, Silva is confident that his team can put up a strong fight.
Waht did Marco Silva say about Liverpool?
Silva explained the importance of consistency in the Premier League, particularly in a season where Liverpool is vying for the title.
He said via the club’s official site, “One of the main things about Liverpool so far this season is how they have been consistent.”
“They have been really consistent in the Premier League.”
“You don’t see them have too many down moments, and when they do, they are always able to react.”
The Fulham boss was also quick to recognize Liverpool’s impressive away record.
“They haven’t lost an away Premier League game so far this season, which shows what I am talking about,” he noted.
Despite Liverpool’s dominance, Silva took pride in Fulham’s previous result against them, a 1-1 draw at Anfield in December.
He stated, “We were one of the teams who took points from them at Anfield.”
“It’s going to be a game that demands us to be close to perfection.”
Silva also emphasized the importance of a passionate home crowd.
He called on Fulham’s supporters to create an environment similar to the one that helped them beat Arsenal at Craven Cottage last week.
“We respect them, but let’s try to create the same environment that our supporters created last Saturday at home,” Silva said.
He believes this could make things tougher for Liverpool and help his side secure three crucial points in their own battle for position in the table.
