Mark Clattenburg has revealed he once told Jurgen Klopp to "f*** off" after being called out by the German manager following a Champions League match.
The now-retired referee was in charge of eight matches involving a team Klopp coached.

Seven were while he was Liverpool manager, with the Reds winning just twice when Clattenburg was officiating their match, including the infamous 3-0 defeat at Watford in his first season at the club.
The foremost of those two was Klopp's fifth match in charge, a 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, which saw him earn his first Premier League three points.
However, that was not the first time they had crossed paths.
Before their meetings while Klopp was in charge at Liverpool and 18 months earlier, Clattenburg refereed Klopp's Borussia Dortmund team in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
The visitors lost 3-0 in the Spanish capital to the eventual winners, and as the ex-referee now recalls, afterwards, they "had a big run-in".
"I thought I had a good game; the assessor came in from Uefa and said: 'You've had a good game'," Clattenburg remembered on The Overlap Fan Debate.

He then claimed that Marcelo asked for a photo with him in the tunnel outside his dressing room.
Clattenburg acknowledges it was "crazy" as "referees never get pictures with players" but went along with it anyway, with the player's family said to be present.
"We took the picture," he recalls, "and Jurgen came past and said, 'F***ing hell!
"'Is that why we've got beat f***ing 3-0?'
"I turned around, I said, 'You're f***ing lucky, you'd have f***ing got beat 3-0.
But I was pleased I was in Madrid, not Dortmund, because I would have had to get out of Dortmund alive."
