Matheus Cunha has said he never thought about leaving Wolves during the January transfer window amid links with a host of top Premier League clubs including Liverpool.
The Brazilian has been excellent this season and his fine form led to speculation that he could leave for a team higher up the table last month.
Wolves are fighting relegation from the Premier League but Cunha said a departure was never on the cards as he wanted to repay the faith the club showed in him when he moved to Molineux from Atletico Madrid in 2023.
"I never think about leaving, honestly.
I know I have a lot of things to do already and I always said that this was the club that gave me the chance to come back," Cunha told Football Focus.
He added: "I had good days in Atletico, but after there was a lot of doubt inside me
When Wolves came in, one of my dreams was playing in the Premier League and Wolves gave me the opportunity to be here."
Cunha was speaking prior to Wolves' win at Bournemouth on Saturday, which moved the Midlands club five points clear of the relegation zone.
Sending a message to Wolves fans during the club's fight against the drop, Cunha added: "Of course they need to be excited
I will hope I help everyone to be better and we solve the situation as fast as we can."
Cunha signed a new contract at Wolves until 2029 earlier this year, and one of the conditions of him signing that deal was believed to be the inclusion of a release clause, which is said to stand at around £60 million ($76 million).
