Middlesbrough coach Michael Carrick has provided an injury update on Liverpool loanee Ben Doak.
Doak has been one of Liverpool’s most successful loan exits this season.
The winger has enjoyed a superb campaign on loan at the Riverside, scoring three goals and seven assists.
However, he hasn’t played in a month for Middlesbrough due to a thigh issue, stalling what has been an excellent campaign so far.
Middelsborugh’s performances have dropped markedly since Doak suffered an injury last month.
The North-East club suffered four straight defeats in the Scotland international’s absence, including the 2-1 loss at Bristol City on Saturday.
Ahead of their the midweek trip to Stoke City, manager Michael Carrick has provided an update on Doak’s fitness.

While there is clamour for the winger to return soon, Carrick urged fans to remain patient despite the team’s poor form during the winger’s spell on the sidelines.
The former Manchester United man also revealed that Doak is nearing a return to full fitness.
“We’re hoping that Ben will be in and around it in terms of training next week,” the former Manchester United midfielder said per the Northern Echo.
“We don’t want to put too much of a deadline on that,” “Everyone’s waiting to see when he’s fit, I get that, but we’ll have to wait and see?
He’s not too far away now, so that’s good.”
Boro desperately need a spark to arrest a slide which has seen them lose six of their last seven Championship games, resulting in a fall from fifth to 13th.
