Liverpool are readying themselves for their biggest transfer window in some time, with Darwin Nunez set to be a prominent figure in the summer.
The Uruguay international has endured a third poor season with the Reds with Liverpool now ready to move Nunez on three years after signing the attacker for £64m, with the fee potentially reaching a club-record £85m due to add-ons.
With Michael Owen now predicting Nunez to be sold by Liverpool, all signs point towards the former Benfica man leaving Anfield as one of the more disappointing signings in the Premier League era given the fee and the excitement surrounding the attacker in 2022.
However, Owen jokingly made one suggestion about what Liverpool could do with Nunez this summer involving a swap deal with a £150m-rated player, and the idea might not be as crazy as it seems.

Alexander Isak is Liverpool’s main striking target for the summer, with the Newcastle United attacker firing the Magpies last week to their first domestic cup in 70 years with a winning goal against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.
With Eddie Howe’s side demanding £150m for Isak this summer as per the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool would need to go above and beyond to match Newcastle’s demands for the former Real Sociedad forward.
However, Liverpool offering Nunez to Newcastle could dramatically bring down the asking price, with the 25-year-old striker a player who could become a superstar at the right team with the right manager, something Howe at the Toon could offer.
Indeed, Howe has shown with the likes of Joelinton and Jacob Murphy to be a top coach at getting the best out of every player in the Newcastle squad, and the English manager could turn Nunez into a sensation if a swap deal was to go through involving Isak.

The odds of Newcastle accepting a swap deal with Liverpool involving Nunez remains slim, such is the worth Isak means to the Magpies after leading the St.
James’ Park side to their first trophy this century.
Yet Isak will know deep down that a move to Liverpool could be perfect for his career, with the Swedish international the ideal striker for Arne Slot’s system and potentially a missing piece for the Reds in their quest to build a new dynasty.
Convincing Newcastle to sell will be difficult, but if Liverpool can do it whilst also sending Nunez the other way, there could be no team in Europe that could stop the Anfield side with Isak leading the line.
