Mikel Arteta has said he plans to spoil Liverpool’s title party this weekend when Arsenal faces Ipswich Town.

With six games remaining in the Premier League season, the Gunners are the only side who can mathematically stop Liverpool from becoming champions.



Should the London side slip up at Ipswich on Sunday and the Reds beat Leicester City a few hours later, the title race will be sewn up.

“For us it's a big game, we need to start to win football matches in the Premier League to at least maintain the position that we are in and to push into the last few games with some hope.”

Even an Arsenal win is preventing the inevitable.

But for Arsenal, the focus has switched away from the Premier League with the title race all but over

Asked what it’s like to switch attention back to the league, Arteta replied: “Quite easy, just review the Madrid game and immediately go to Ipswich and start to do all the preparation, start to watch the games, the games we play against them and what we learn over the last few months since we've played them
