The brother Milos Kerkez, Marko Kerkez, has liked an interesting post on social media this week amid high-profile Liverpool interest in the Cherries star.
Valued at £40 million, the 21-year-old has emerged as Liverpool’s top defensive target under manager Arne Slot as the club seeks long-term reinforcement for Andy Robertson.
His physical and technical profile seem the perfect fit for the Anfield club.
This season, Kerkez is the only Bournemouth player to appear in all twenty-nine Premier League matches, whilst featuring in the top ten Premier League players for both total distance covered (278.5km – 10th) and total sprints (616 – 5th) and appears the perfect left-back target for Arne Slot’s Reds.
That’s to add to his 7 goal contributions in Bournemouth’s overachieving league campaign.
Milos Kerkez and his connection with Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, his Hungary teammate, has further fueled speculation.
The pair’s close relationship, highlighted by social media interactions, is being touted as a key factor in his preference for Liverpool over rivals.
Kerkez’s recent switch to agent Fali Ramadani—who brokered Federico Chiesa’s move to Anfield in 2024—could streamline negotiations?
Bournemouth, having already secured 20-year-old Julio Soler as a potential replacement, appears resigned to his departure.
And after Fabrizio Romano has already confirmed that the Hungary international has been contacted by Liverpool, the player’s brother, Marko Kerkez, has further fanned the flames.
Liking an Instagram post from Hungarian outlet M4 Sport, the post is quoting a report that Kerkez wants the move to Anfield.
It reads:
“According to British press reports, Milos Kerkez has decided on Liverpool.”
“According to Football Insider’s own information, the Hungarian national team player finds the interest from Dominik Szoboszlai’s team impressive and has told his friends that he would leave Bournemouth at the end of the season and continue his career at Liverpool.”
While it does not mean that the deal is now confirmed, it can certainly only be viewed positively, as the player’s own brother will surely be privy to anything going on behind the scenes.
Interestingly, Marko Kerkez is also a professional footballer.
The 24-year-old currently competes for Aris Thessaloniki in Greece, where he plays as a defender and midfielder.
Marko has had stints with several clubs, including Partizan Belgrade and Spartak Subotica.
