Liverpool are one win away from the Premier League title, with the summer transfer window already being eyed by some supporters.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is edging towards joining Real Madrid as a free-agent, big changes are expected at Anfield in the off-season, with Jamie Carragher suggesting that Liverpool could make six signings in the summer.

With Liverpool already in the driving seat to sign Milos Kerkez, some big deals appear to be in the pipeline for the Reds heading into the summer, where Arne Slot’s side could be one of the main players in the market.

Yet after Sunday’s win against Leicester City, Steve Nicol has highlighted one position that needs a new signing due to the fitness issues of a certain player.

Speaking on ESPN FC, the pundit has strongly suggested to Liverpool to sign some competition for Conor Bradley this summer, especially with Alexander-Arnold potentially leaving Anfield for Madrid in the coming weeks.

Bradley was lauded by Tony Adams after his performance against Leicester on the weekend, with Gary Neville also impressed with what he saw from the Northern Ireland international at the King Power Stadium.

Yet for Nicol, Liverpool need more than Bradley at right-back next season, with the pundit noting the defender’s worrying injury record throughout the season, as the former Liverpool man said said: “I would expect Liverpool to sign somebody.

“Regardless of if you think Conor Bradley is good enough, his record recently in terms of picking up injuries isn’t good, he’s missed a lot of games for a young player, so you need competition, and there won’t be any if it’s only Conor Bradley, Liverpool need to go and sign a right-sided fullback.”

Bradley has more than proved himself this season that he’s ready to become Liverpool’s new starting right-back next season, though as Nicol states, the defender’s fitness record is a problem for the Reds going into the new campaign.

As a result, a new signing that can provide competition for Bradley will be greatly needed at Liverpool this summer, with the 21-year-old right-back simply not enough to provide enough depth in the right-back position.

Indeed, Bradley should be Liverpool’s new starting right-back next season, yet the majority of supporters will agree that more depth is needed if the Reds are to be sufficiently ready for the new campaign at the back.
