LEICESTER, ENGLAND - APRIL 20: (SUN OUT, SUN ON SUNDAY OUT) Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool celebrates scoring his team's first goal with teammate Harvey Elliott during the Premier League match between Leicester City FC and Liverpool FC at The King Power Stadium on April 20, 2025 in Leicester, England.

Mohamed Salah, in a departure from his usual routine this season, did not post a celebratory selfie with Liverpool's goal-scorer Trent Alexander-Arnold following their 1-0 victory over Leicester City.

However, he did acknowledge the vice-captain's celebration with a heartening response.

Salah has made it a habit to take selfies with the Reds' goal-scorers after most matches this season, including with Diogo Jota after the Merseyside derby and more recently with Luis Diaz and Virgil van Dijk following their 2-1 triumph over West Ham United.

Understandably, there were no such posts following recent losses to Fulham, Newcastle United, and Paris Saint-Germain, nor was there a typical reaction after their Easter Sunday win.

Instead, Salah opted against taking a picture with the believed-to-be-departing Alexander-Arnold, and instead posted a photo of himself gesturing towards the away end after the match, accompanied by a grinning face emoji.

Liverpool are now just one victory away from securing the Premier League title.

He also shared the same image on his Instagram story without a caption, followed by another of him arriving at the stadium before the match.

The final image he shared was of Alexander-Arnold celebrating shirtless in front of the travelling fans after scoring.

In the picture, a smiling Salah can be seen looking on as Harvey Elliott embraces the Reds' vice-captain, with Kostas Tsimkas and Virgil van Dijk also approaching from either side to join the celebration.

Alexander-Arnold posted a photo montage of his post-match joy accompanied by the words "special moments".

The gallery gained traction, with Curtis Jones, Elliott, Luis Diaz, Ryan Gravenberch, and Tyler Morton commenting beneath.

Many other colleagues showed approval by 'liking' the post - Alexis Mac Allister, Conor Bradley, Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Virgil van Dijk among them.

Even ex-teammates Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge, and Roberto Firmino followed suit.

Alexander-Arnold is yet to comment definitively on his future, and has not signed a contract extension with Liverpool.
