The agent of Mohamed Salah, Ramy Abbas Issa, has set tongues wagging about his client’s contract with an interesting Instagram update shared on his profile on Friday.

He posted a social media story that clearly shows the agent in a distinctive London street, complete with an iconic red telephone box and the Union Jack flag.

The timing of Abbas’ London visit comes during an interesting period for his star client.

Salah, who remains Liverpool’s talisman with 23 goals this season, has a contract at Anfield that runs until June 2025.

The Egyptian forward’s future has been a topic of discussion since Al-Ittihad’s £150 million bid was rejected last summer.

Now it is looking like Al-Hilal have taken up the mantle of luring Salah to the Saudi Pro League, with reports suggesting they could return with an improved offer in the summer.

While it would be speculation to assume that the agent is in England to engage in talks with Liverpool over his client’s future, it is still an interesting update nonetheless.

What is really happening with Al-Hilal and Mohamed Salah amid contract impasse?

Saudi interest in the 32-year-old is painfully evident as we enter the final days of the January window.

Earlier this month, a chief from the Saudi Pro League posted a doctored image of the Egyptian in the Al-Hilal kit.

Then, later in January, another minister of state claimed that Salah was ‘one step away from’ joining Al-Hilal.

Furthermore, Saudi Arabia Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal recently sat down with Piers Morgan and revealed that he would ‘love’ to have the Liverpool man in the Saudi League:

“Well definitely, he ticks all the right boxes for us?

We would love to have him, he’s Egyptian and we have very good relationship – we feel like we are one with the Egyptians as well from our culture and history,” Al-Faisal said.

“So, to have Mo Salah or other players who are good role models would be a pleasure and a privilege to have in the Saudi League.”

“Will it happen or not?

That’s up to the clubs to decide and to see what negotiations go on.”

Al-Hilal is reportedly prepared to offer the 32-year-old a lucrative two-year contract worth £65 million (approximately €77 million) per year.

A significant development involves FIFA’s approval of an ‘exceptional’ transfer window from June 1-10 this year, specifically before the Club World Cup, which could facilitate Salah’s move to the Saudi champions.
