Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah reckons Erling Haaland has it easier than him when it comes to trying to score goals for his team.

Haaland has scored goals at a frightening rate wherever he's been during his career, netting prolifically for Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City.

After winning back-to-back Premier League golden boots during his first two seasons at City, Haaland is vying for a third this campaign, but currently trails Liverpool ace Salah by five goals in the top scorer standings.

Haaland and Salah will go head to head at the Etihad Stadium this weekend, and the Egyptian forward spoke to Sky Germany ahead of the game, where he was asked about goal-scoring comparisons between him and Haaland.

"I respect him a lot," Salah said.

But his life is easy because he plays as a striker.

That's why I see it differently between us, because he's a striker and I'm a winger."

Liverpool travels to Manchester as the favorite to win the match, despite having not beaten City away from home in the Premier League since Jurgen Klopp's first season in charge of the Reds.

City is enduring its worst season under Pep Guardiola and goes into Sunday's game off the back of being dumped out of the Champions League by Real Madrid, losing 6-3 on aggregate during the playoff stage.

Despite City's issues, Salah is not expecting an easy game as the Reds target a first away Premier League win in three attempts after back-to-back draws with Everton and Aston Villa recently.

"City will always be City," Salah added.
