Mohamed Salah has highlighted the danger Omar Marmoush could present to Liverpool in the upcoming clash with Manchester City.
The Reds are set to face City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend, aiming to secure all three points.
Following a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa midweek, Liverpool sits eight points clear of Arsenal, who is second in the table, having played one more game.
By kick-off, Liverpool's lead could shrink to five points if Arsenal, playing West Ham on Saturday, emerges victorious.
The encounter will mark the first time Salah competes against Marmoush.
Both Salah and Marmoush have represented Egypt, sharing the field 26 times for their national team
However, come Sunday, they'll be adversaries, and Salah has already expressed his views on avoiding comparisons with his fellow Egyptian.
"There are not many players from Egypt and the Arab countries who went to Europe and fought for success, and Marmoush is one of them," Salah remarked during the Sharjah International Book Fair last November.
"I see that he has great potential, he is an important player for his team and the national team, I want to stay away from the idea of comparisons to make his life easier."
"I want people to stop comparing him to me, by saying that he will be the new Salah and will do what he did and overcome, that will put him under pressure all the time and does not help the player."
"It will put him in comparison with a player who has been very successful over the past years, but he is still starting his career
Let him live his experience and be happy with it, comparisons will not help him, let him do something of his own and in his direction away from my career."
Marmoush scored a hat-trick against Newcastle last weekend and will hope to keep his place against Liverpool on Sunday
