Mohamed Salah has entered the final year of his contract at Liverpool and the club are desperate for him to pen fresh terms amid interest from Saudi Arabia

Former Liverpool shot-stopper Adrian has shared that Mohamed Salah is already impressed with Arne Slot's early tenure at the club.



Slot, who previously managed Feyenoord, was appointed as Jurgen Klopp's successor over the summer and has a tough act to follow after Klopp's successful nine-year stint in charge.

The Dutchman officially began his role at the start of the month, primarily working with players not on international duty this summer.

However, most first-team players are now back in training ahead of the new Premier League season, and got his summer underway with a 1-0 win over Real Betis in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Adrian, who left Liverpool earlier this summer, revealed that his former teammates, including Salah, have been praising Slot's methods.

In an interview with The Athletic, Adrian said: "I speak almost every day with many of the squad - Kostas Tsimikas, Mo Salah.

And I wish him the best."

The fact that Slot is making a positive impression on Salah will not go unnoticed by Liverpool fans, especially given the uncertainty surrounding the Egyptian star, who is now in the final year of his contract.

Over the past year, there's been interest in Salah from Saudi Arabia, and it was anticipated that Middle Eastern clubs would challenge Liverpool before the new season kicked off, especially after Al-Ittihad's whopping £150million bid for the forward was rejected last summer.

Liverpool will hope to persuade Salah, who has netted over 200 goals for the Reds, will extend his tenure at Anfield beyond 2025.

There seems little chance of the club selling Salah this summer though - even if he won't commit to a new deal.

Club captain Virgil van Dijk and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold's contracts also expire at the end of the season, and previous reports suggest that securing all three players on new deals is a priority for the club's top brass.
