Mohamed Salah has reflected on the important advice Arsene Wenger gave him as Liverpool surge towards their second Premier League title.
And when he was asked by former Reds midfielder Steve McManaman if that's what defines the best players, Salah told TNT Sports: "I think so.
And I asked him what's the difference between good players and great players.
"He told me 'the great players, it doesn't matter how he performs in the game, he always stays focused and just waits for the moments, he's always in the game'.
It was an important consideration, and that was a few years ago.
"When you understand your feeling in the game, players' emotions go up and down [gestures high and low].
I don't want my emotions to be like this, so I try to be stable and understand that you're not going to have your best game in every game.
But if you stay focused, you will have one chance."
Salah is often man-marked on the right flank but very few defenders have managed to nullify the magician, despite their best efforts.
Indeed, the former Chelsea player confirmed that opponents try to get under his skin with 'trash talk', but it falls on deaf ears as he doesn't like to engage.
