Mohamed Salah has put to bed any uncertainty over his Liverpool future by signing a new two-year deal at Anfield.

The Egyptian winger faced an uncertain future as he approached the end of his contract, but he has finally signed on the dotted line.

Salah was a long-term target for Saudi Arabian clubs but not shut down speculation over his Liverpool future, and Virgil van Dijk is set to follow him amid club optimism he will also extend his stay.

A statement read: "Liverpool FC can announce Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract that will keep him with the club beyond the 2024-25 season.

"The forward, who is enjoying another stellar campaign for the Reds, has committed his future by putting pen to paper on the deal.

"So far this term, Salah has scored 32 goals in just 45 appearances in all competitions, 27 of which have come in the Premier League, making him the division’s leading marksman.

These strikes have been supplemented by 22 assists for his teammates.

"And today’s news means Salah will extend an eight-year stay at Anfield into the future and continue to help Arne Slot’s team challenge for the game’s biggest honours."

"Of course I’m very excited," Salah told the club.

But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.

"It’s great, I had my best years here.

I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together.

Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies."

Liverpool added: "Salah has cemented himself as a Liverpool legend since his transfer from AS Roma in the summer of 2017."

Salah is now set to see out an entire decade of success at Anfield that has cemented him as one of the all-time Premier League greats.

The 32-year-old, previously of Chelsea, signed from Roma in 2017 and delivered an outstanding debut season.

He scored 44 goals in 52 outings across all competitions and was named the club's Players' Player of the Season.

Salah won his first trophy with Liverpool a year later when they beat Tottenham in the Champions League final.

UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup success followed before the Reds won their first Premier League title for 30 years.

The Egyptian international was pivotal in their historic campaign as he provided 29 league goal contributions.

Salah completed the major trophy set in 2022 when Liverpool won the FA Cup and League Cup.

In total, the winger has notched 243 goals and 111 assists in 394 appearances for the club.

He is also their record Premier League goalscorer on 184 goals, and set to win the title for a second time this season.

Liverpool are top of the table and lead second-placed Arsenal by 11 points with seven games left to play.

Arne Slot's side face West Ham on Sunday knowing victory will push them closer to the 20th league title in their history.

Salah's news will come as a major boost for the club as they look to build upon a memorable 2024/25 campaign.
