According to reports, Saudi Arabian clubs are becoming resigned to Mohamed Salah extending his stay at Liverpool.

The Egyptian is into the final six months of his contract on Merseyside as the Reds face of losing the 32-year-old on a free in the summer.

Salah continued to emphasise his importance for Arne Slot's side as he scored and assisted during Wednesday's dramatic 2-2 draw with Everton.

The attacker was the provider for Alexis Mac Allister's deft header five minutes after they fell behind and was on hand to volley home late on to send Liverpool to within seconds of a nine-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

In a report from i Sport, despite Salah being eyed as the "perfect signing" for the league, a source told the outlet that they feel like they are being used in a makeweight in the negotiations over an extension.

"There is a feeling we are being used in contract negotiations this time," an advisor told the outlet.

Liverpool are flying this season and he is scoring goals like he was five years ago again."

Saudi Pro League title-chasers Al-Hilal are said to be interested in the forward with the offer reportedly in the region of £65million for two seasons.

Former Everton forward Anthony Gordon emerged as a shock transfer target for Liverpool in the summer.

The Reds were linked with the England international during Newcastle United's battle to steer clear of breaching the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability.

Gordon was a guest on Sky panel show A League of their Own which aired on Thursday and discussed his families bitterness towards their Merseyside rivals.

All Liverpool so it was quite strange.

"So I was at Liverpool and they released me at 11 and then Everton signed me."

Former Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp added: And then they tried to buy you back for £80million in the summer.

My family are really, really bitter Liverpool fans."
