The future of Mohamed Salah at Liverpool remains in doubt.

The Egyptian superstar is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season and there has been no sign of an agreement being reached with the winger over a new one.

What makes this situation worse for everyone associated with the Merseyside club is the form the 32-year-old has displayed as the Reds star has produced 26 goals and 18 assists across the 34 matches he has featured in this season.

Saudi Arabia are showing strong interest in Salah and are ready to pounce this summer should the Egyptian international decide to leave Anfield.

The closer the summer gets, the more unlikely it is that the 32-year-old will be at Liverpool next season, however, his future is believed to have become clearer.

At 32, Salah is unlikely to want to move to Saudi Arabia for the 2025/26 season as that option will always be there for the Liverpool superstar.

The Egyptian international is currently operating at a very high level and he will be fully confident that he can replicate that over the coming years.

This is reflected in the latest update on the 32-year-old’s future as Salah’s main priority remains to renew his contract with Liverpool, reports CaughtOffside.

The Egyptian captain’s future is still yet to be decided as everyone continues to work towards an agreement over a new deal, however, the report states that the Premier League leaders have offered a two-year extension to the winger with a good financial package.

Talks are expected to speed up over the coming weeks with PSG said to be waiting in the background to see what happens with the Liverpool star’s future.

The Ligue 1 champions are said to have a three-year contract until 2028 waiting on the table and ready to be signed.

John Barnes recently called for Liverpool to prioritise Virgil van Dijk when it comes to the topic of contract extensions and that is a view many Reds fans will share as the Dutch star is crucial to their club’s success.
