Liverpool have had some legendary strikers across the years, yet few in the Premier League had quite as big an impact as Luis Suarez.
The former Uruguay international was one of the most lethal centre-forwards in England during his stint with the Reds, with Suarez playing a key role in Liverpool’s legendary 2013/14 squad alongside Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling.
One of Liverpool’s best January signings, the now-Inter Miami attacker left quite a legacy at Anfield after leaving for FC Barcelona in 2014, where the striker established himself alongside Lionel Messi as one of the best goalscorers in this generation.
Indeed, Suarez was a one-of-a-kind player for Liverpool, and former goalkeeper Brad Jones has shared what it was like training with the attacker, and how intense the Uruguayan could be with his teammates.

Speaking to Optus Sport, the shot-stopper revealed how intense Suarez was with other South American players at Liverpool, with Jones also lifting the lid on how many Premier League defenders underrated the attacker’s physical power.
Jones said: “He’s a real nice guy, I wasn’t best mates with him because he didn’t talk a lot of English, but he was a quiet guy, always having a laugh somewhere in the dressing room, but the minute he was on the pitch he was vicious, same as the training pitch every day.
You could run into him and it would be like running into a concrete wall, he was just built different.”

Suarez is a striker who might not come around for another few decades, such is the quality of the forward’s finishing ability and attacking movement that made the former Liverpool man one of the best in the world.
And the Reds do have a player who has been likened to Suarez, with Jamie Carragher comparing Diogo Jota to the former Liverpool no.
7 based on how good a finisher the Portuguese international is when given the chance.
Whether or not another Suarez comes along remains to be seen, yet Liverpool fans will be happy that they got to experience the best years of the striker before his move to Barcelona, where alongside Lionel Messi the attacker made history.
