Liverpool are back in Champions League action on Tuesday night as they host Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield.

A place in the quarter-final of the competition is up for grabs, with the Reds holding a 1-0 lead thanks to their victory at the Parc des Princes last week.

Harvey Elliott scored the winning goal for Liverpool in the French capital last week, in a game that saw PSG have several chances saved by Alisson Becker.

Avoiding defeat would see the Reds book their place in the quarter-final of the Champions League, where Aston Villa or Club Brugge awaits.

Liverpool were forced to deal with 27 efforts on their goal in the first leg in Paris, compared to just two that they managed of their own.

Despite being a goal behind, PSG players and head coach Luis Enrique are seemingly confident they can overturn the deficit on their trip to Anfield.

The last meeting on Merseyside between the two clubs saw Liverpool claim a 3-2 victory in September 2018 during the group stages.

A result of the same scoreline would be more than enough for the Reds to progress to the quarter-final, with Tuesday night's tie being widely previewed both on Merseyside and in Paris.

Here, the ECHO takes a look at how the French newspapers are looking ahead to Liverpool's clash against PSG.

Vincent Duluc wrote for L'Equipe: "One of the two best teams in Europe at the moment will be eliminated from the Champions League on Tuesday night, and there are few other ways of putting it, given French football: it would have to be the other one.

"The other one, who won the first leg (1-0) last week, surviving a storm, taking the cash register and turning off the light as they left.

The other one, who knows all about those altitudes where his opponents gasp for air, and those evenings when the Kop prevails."

Dominique Sévérac added for Le Parisien: "In the meanders of the streets bordering Anfield, set among the red brick houses, it is whispered that Liverpool fans are not leading a wide life.
