Newcastle United fans have had plenty of reasons to be worried in recent weeks.

Their team has been fighting for a Champions League spot, but injuries have disrupted their progress.

One of the biggest concerns has been the fitness of star striker Alexander Isak.

Newcastle are desperate for a trophy.

Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has given fans reason to hope.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Shearer shared what he has heard about Isak’s condition:

“From what I’m hearing, he’s going to be fine for the (Carabao Cup) final.”

That’s exactly what Newcastle fans wanted to hear.

Shearer also explained how manager Eddie Howe is handling the situation:

“I guess that’s what Eddie Howe has to factor in over the next two weekends.

Newcastle have got Brighton in the FA Cup, then West Ham the following Monday evening, so two games.”

“If there is even a two percent chance with a doubt about someone, then I guess he is just going to leave them out in preparation for the final.”

“I don’t blame him for that.”

This means Isak may not play in Newcastle’s next two games, but it’s all part of a bigger plan.

Newcastle want their star man ready for Wembley.

For Liverpool, this is something to consider.

Isak has been Newcastle’s key player, scoring 18 goals in his last 18 games.

He could cause serious problems for the Reds’ defense.

Slot’s team may have to prepare for a much tougher final than they were hoping for.
