Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall will miss the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool after injuring his ankle last week, it has been claimed.
The former Chelsea left-back, who picked up the issue during Newcastle's 2-0 defeat at Anfield, missed Sunday afternoon's FA Cup exit against Brighton - and scans have now showed enough damage to keep him out of the impending showpiece at Wembley.
According to The Daily Mail - as claimed by our colleagues at Chronicle Live - Hall will miss the next two matches, including the game against Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday, March 16.
Hall won't then be back until at least after the upcoming international break.
It's another hammer blow for Eddie Howe's side with Anthony Gordon also missing the final after he was sent off against Brighton.
The former Everton winger was shown a straight red card for a push on the back of Jan Paul van Hecke's head, meaning he will miss the next three domestic fixtures.

Howe hinted in his post-match press conference that Newcastle might appeal Gordon's red card, but it has since been confirmed that the Magpies have decided against doing that.
Gordon is now going to miss the Carabao Cup final, as well as Premier League fixtures against West Ham and Brentford.
Hall and Gordon both being unavailable is going to weaken Newcastle's left-hand side.
Liverpool's right-hand flank is strong - and has been for some time - with both players influential for the Reds.
Liverpool overcame Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 on aggregate in the Carabao Cup semi-final to reach the final at Wembley.
