Liverpool’s dominace in the Premier League title race has led to an early shift towards the summer transfer window and what moves the Reds could make.

A 13-point lead ahead of second-place Arsenal has given the Anfield side an air of calm surrounding their title chances, with Liverpool cruising towards a second Premier League championship in Arne Slot’s first season in charge.

With PSG manager Luis Enrique lauding Liverpool as ‘the best team in Europe’, the moves the Reds make this summer will be interesting to keep note of, especially after last year where Slot brought in just one new signing for the season in Federico Chiesa.

Indeed, transfer rumours have ramped up in recent days with ten games of the Premier League season left to go, yet it appears that one Liverpool target won’t be heading to Anfield later this year despite recent speculation.

Speaking to Bild, VfB Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth has confirmed that star midfielder Angelo Stiller won’t be leaving the Bundesliga club this summer despite rumoured interest from Liverpool in recent weeks.

Stiller was named in Liverpool’s list of midfield targets heading into the summer with Slot keen to add more quality into the centre of the park, with Joshua Kimmich also a reported target for the Reds as a potential option.

Noted by Total Football Analysis as a ‘special’ passer, Stiller has been one of the breakout stars in Germany in the last 18 months with Stuttgart, yet a move this summer is now seemingly off the table, a decision that will go down as a blow for Liverpool.

Wohlgemuth said: “This is not an issue that is currently on our agenda.

And that is exactly how the issue is finally dealt with.”

Stiller has seemingly come out of nowhere to establish himself as a potential long-term replacement for Germany for Toni Kroos, a player the Stuttgart star has been likened to on more than one occasion in the last 18 months.

A technically gifted central midfielder known for his passing and versatility, it’s no real surprise why Liverpool are interested in Stiller, especially with Slot looking ready to add a top-quality option to operate alongside Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister.

Missing out on Stiller will sting for Liverpool given the midfielder’s profile, but with more options out there, the Reds could find a better alternative in the coming weeks leading up to the summer transfer window, a market that could be a big one for the Anfield side.
