Arsene Wenger has admitted he thinks Liverpool will beat Arsenal to the Premier League title this season.

The Reds are currently seven points clear of the Gunners, and have the opportunity to extend that advantage to 10 points when they travel to Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

While Liverpool are in the midst of a challenging run, which sees them travel to Man City before hosting Newcastle United to complete a stretch of five games in 15 days, Arsenal face their own difficult set of fixtures in the forthcoming weeks.

The Gunners host West Ham United this weekend, but then travel to Nottingham Forest and Manchester United before hosting Chelsea.

They also face two ties with either Juventus or AC Milan, with it already known they will face either of the Serie A giants or one of Dutch pair PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord in the Champions League round-of-16

Legendary Arsenal manager Wenger won three Premier League titles during his 22 years in charge of the Gunners, and led them to an incredible Invincibles campaign in 2003/04.

But that remains the last time the North London outfit were crowned champions of England.

And while the 75-year-old hopes his former side can end their drought this season, he concedes it would take a Liverpool collapse for Arsenal to stand any chance as he joked that he would need to 'improve the quality of his praying'.

“Look, it’s simple, they (Liverpool) need to lose games but now we are 25 games played and Liverpool have only lost one," he said on beIN Sports.

“So they have to lose three at least, in the next 13 games.

“At the moment it looks unlikely unless they collapse.

So they are the super favourite.

“And on top of that, Arsenal now has to make the perfect run.
