Arne Slot has reiterated his desire for Virgil van Dijk to sign a new contract at Liverpool - but is adamant the uncertainty over the skipper is not impacting on his plans for next season.
Van Dijk prompted renewed speculation regarding his future when he admitted to not knowing the outcome of ongoing talks to agree a new deal, and stated anyone aware of what is happening to him for the next campaign is "lying to your face".
While the Holland international has regularly intimated he wants to stay at Anfield, he will leave on a free transfer in the summer unless an agreement is reached with Liverpool in the next few months.
Van Dijk is one of three Reds players in a similar situation with discussions continuing with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Salah has also expressed his preference to remain at Liverpool while Alexander-Arnold has been given an offer from Real Madrid, who failed in an attempt to sign the right-back in January.

And when asked when he wants to know the resolution of the future of the three players, Slot said on Friday morning: "I don't know what's happening next season as well in terms of results, but that's not what you mean.
"The only thing I know is that I want Virgil to be here next season, and all the rest, his talks about contracts, that's not what I do over here.
