Liverpool are in the French capital tonight for a massive Champions League last-16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite finishing top of the revamped league phase with seven wins from eight matches, Arne Slot’s side have been handed an extremely difficult first knockout round assignment.

The Reds face a PSG side that despite only managing a rather disappointing 15th-place finish in the league phase, thrashed Ligue 1 rivals Brest 10-0 on aggregate in the play-off round and are currently on a 10-game winning streak across all competitions.

The Reds are in Paris for the first leg of their last-16 tie against PSG tonight and have a number of players in the squad who have to be careful if they are to avoid being suspended for the reverse fixture.

Players who receive three yellow cards in the Champions League will be handed a one-match ban.

That runs through to the end of the quarter-finals, when bookings are wiped.
