Liverpool fans and viewers at home were left flummoxed after a Paris Saint-Germain supporter used a megaphone to gee his team up in Tuesday's Champions League penalty shootout at Anfield.
Ousmane Dembele scored the only goal of the game across 120 minutes on Merseyside, with the PSG star cancelling out Harvey Elliott's first-leg winner at the Parc des Princes.
Dembele was also one of four visiting players to score in the shootout, while Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones failed from 12 yards for the Premier League side.
During the spot-kicks, one fan - equipped with a megaphone - appeared to be attempting to motivate PSG and intimidate Liverpool.
"Considering how we’re treated on euro aways we don’t half give visiting euro fans some freedom," wrote another.
"No excuses but I’d love to know how a PSG fan was allowed a megaphone speaker into Anfield it literally had like a fire alarm sound on it too," was the response from a third.
However, those not of a Liverpool persuasion appeared to enjoy the antics.
"That PSG fan with the megaphone behind the goal was the man of the match," one fan wrote, with another saying "We need more sirens wailing during penalty shoot outs."?
Other posts indicated the use of a megaphone by PSG fans isn't new in and of itself, but the deployment in a European penalty shootout was a new development.
