PSV manager Peter Bosz has revealed the ‘terrible’ behaviour he wished he did not see from his side against Liverpool.

The match was a rollercoaster affair, with Liverpool twice taking the lead in the first half.

Cody Gakpo opened the scoring with a penalty against his former club, and Harvey Elliott restored Liverpool’s advantage after Johan Bakayoko had equalized for PSV.

However, the hosts turned the game around before halftime.

Ismael Saibari leveled the score again, and Ricardo Pepi netted what proved to be the winner in stoppage time.

The second half saw fewer clear-cut chances, with Liverpool unable to find an equalizer.

The Reds’ night went from bad to worse when debutant Amara Nallo received a straight red card late in the game

Despite the result that did not mean much in the grander scheme of things, there was plenty of positive to pull from the performance at the Philips Stadion on Wednesday evening.

James McConnell impressed so much that Arne Slot has now ruled out the youngster from a loan move.

Federico Chiesa put in just about his best performance in a Liverpool shirt and emphatically shut down any transfers post-game.

And with the way Slot rotated, players like Wataru Endo were able to benefit from a much-needed 90 minutes to maintain fitness levels.

However, Slot’s opposite number was not happy with players despite their hard-fought win.

What did Peter Bosz say about his PSV side?

Speaking to reporters after the game, Bosz revealed his displeasure at his team ‘showboating’ against Liverpool especially in the second-half.

Johan Bakayoko, who claimed he ‘could join Liverpool’ after the game, was one of the players doing flicks and no look passes down Liverpool’s right flank.

“I thought it was terrible.

I’m really annoyed,” Bosz said after the game.

I think we would have entertained the crowd before without all that craziness.”

The PSV manager was able to still recognize that it was a good performance by his side, even if it was not a full strength Liverpool side:

“I watched it with great pleasure,” said Bosz.

“I understand very well that it wasn’t the best Liverpool team, but there was still a lot of quality on the pitch.

“We tried to play our best football against that.
