The transfer links between Jorrel Hato and Liverpool reached a fever pitch at the end of January after the defender was recently spotted at Anfield during Liverpool’s 4-1 victory over Ipswich Town
A photograph was captured of him seated in the Main Stand on Saturday, setting tongues wagging among the Anfield faithful.
Many fans were getting excited at the prospect of the Reds securing such a promising and coveted player.
Although links seemed tentative at the time, there seems to be concrete interest from Liverpool.
That’s because Paul Joyce has confirmed that the 19-year-old are among the players the Anfield hierarchy are looking at left-back for succession planning.
Writing for the Times, the Merseyside reporter asserted:
“Succession planning is required at left back given Andrew Robertson turns 31 next month and Kostas Tsimikas is not a long-term solution?
Liverpool have been studying options such as Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Ajax’s Jorrel Hato among others.”
