Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has given his thoughts on the Premier League title race, suggesting that the Gunners could have an advantage over Liverpool in this weekend's fixtures.

The Gunners are set to face West Ham on Saturday, while Liverpool will travel to Manchester City.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson said: "Arsenal has an advantage this week since it is playing before Liverpool.



And if Liverpool loses at City on Sunday, the title race is wide open!

Merson also expressed his belief that Liverpool will dominate Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, securing the four points he thinks they need from their recent away games.

He concluded: "A win for Liverpool here would be the end for Arsenal's title hopes.

Once it beats City, I expect Liverpool to beat Newcastle and Southampton.

The striker sat out the midweek defeat to Real Madrid and Pep Guardiola is still not sure if he will be fit.
