Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Erling Haaland will miss the game against Liverpool after struggling to return from a knock he sustained last week.

Manchester City have a huge task on Sunday as the defending Premier League champions in Arne Slot's Liverpool with the team making the decision to pull him from the squad on Saturday.

Haaland had been on the bench against Real Madrid in midweek, but did not come on while appearing to be struggling with them going on to lose comfortably.

And prior to the game on Sunday, Guardiola confirmed that Haaland would not be able to play a part.
