“No one is going to win [with] 100 points, and four-in-a-row in the Premier League.

But Guardiola believes no one else – including Liverpool – will match that record.

His comments come just before a crucial match against the Reds.

While Arne Slot’s side is in a strong position, Guardiola clearly doesn’t see them – or anyone else – reaching the level City have in recent years.

For Liverpool, the response is simple.

Winning at the Etihad would send the perfect message: history doesn’t win you titles.
