Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has shared an injury update on Erling Haaland after he did not feature against Real Madrid due to a knee issue.
Haaland was forced off in the closing stages of City's 4-0 win over Newcastle last weekend and Guardiola was hopeful he would be able to feature against Madrid.
Haaland did not warm up either before or during the game as City were thrashed 3-1 thanks to a Kylian Mbappe hat-trick and crashed out of the Champions League after losing the play-off tie 6-3 on aggregate.
City boss Pep Guardiola has shared an update on Haaland's fitness.
It marked the third time in four years that City have lost a knockout tie to Madrid, but Guardiola suggested this defeat was the only one that was deserved.
"In previous seasons when we were playing outstanding it hurt more than today," he added.
"I had the feeling we were better than them in the previous three seasons but this time they were better." Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, is feeling confident about his side's chances of winning a 16th Champions League this season.
"We are in the fight for Champions League," he said.
