Pep Guardiola and Mohamed Salah shared a heart-warming moment following Liverpool's 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday.

Arne Slot's side moved 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League and extended their unbeaten top-flight run to a staggering 23 matches with victory at the Etihad Stadium.

Although City started on the front foot, it was Liverpool who took the lead in the 14th minute.



Salah turned provider this time, feeding the ball into the path of Dominik Szoboszlai, who took a touch before drilling the ball into the bottom corner.

While Liverpool didn't conjure up many opportunities, they were efficient when going forward and looked solid at the back.

City huffed and puffed in the second half but couldn't do enough to break down a tough Liverpool defence and Slot's men held out for a comfortable win.

And after the game, City head coach Guardiola - despite losing - decided to show a moment of class and have a moment with Liverpool hero Salah.

Guardiola has been seen doing this to other players in the past and Salah is the latest to be given this treatment, with the City boss showing his classy true colours.

Guardiola might have also been congratulating Salah after he reached the 30-goal mark for the season.

Among them were that Salah has now scored and assisted in 11 Premier League matches this season, the most by a player in a single season in one of Europe's big five leagues since Lionel Messi for Barcelona in 2014/15 (11).

A second record he broke is that Salah is the first player to score 25+ goals and register 15+ assists in a Premier League season, and thirdly Salah is the first player in Premier League history to score AND assist in both games against the reigning champions in a season.
