The final international break of the season has now concluded and attention for the Liverpool squad will now revert back to the Premier League title picture.
The Reds return to action next Wednesday, having been awarded a prolonged break due to the FA Cup Quarter-Final action scheduled for this weekend.
Liverpool hold a very healthy league position as they head towards the final stretch, boasting a twelve-point advantage over their nearest chasers, Arsenal, and despite back-to-back defeats last time out, they’ll be hoping to brush those cup disappointments aside and focus on getting the task complete.
A total of sixteen more points (5W,1D) will be required for Arne Slot’s side to take home the Premier League trophy, but this is only if Arsenal are to win every one of their final nine fixtures, including against Liverpool at Anfield in May.
Ahead of the imminent return to club football, we have decided to assess the Reds’ remaining games, compare to their rivals and predict where the league title will be won.
GAMEWEEK 30
Liverpool vs Everton
Arsenal vs Fulham
The final Merseyside derby of the season is Liverpool’s first game back from the international break, this time, with home advantage.
In derby matches, form can go out of the window as the Reds have a dismal record away to Everton that stretches way back to 2010.
Since, a 2-0 defeat that year, Liverpool have made fourteen Premier League visits to Goodison, winning only on three occasions: 2-0 (2011), 1-0 (2016) and 4-1 (2021).
But at Anfield, they boast a much better record, winning five from their last six, and each of their last three home derbies ending in 2-0 victories.
Liverpool and Everton last met in the reverse fixture just nine weeks ago for Goodison Park’s final hurrah.
The scores couldn’t be settled and Arne Slot’s side were stung in stoppage time as the Toffees salvaged a deserved late 2-2 draw, but not without controversy.
Tensions then spilled over following the full-time whistle that led to Slot, Sipke Hulshoff, Curtis Jones and Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure all receiving dismissals for behaving in an improper manner towards each other, or the match officials.
An ill-tempered Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park ended in a brawl between Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Despite a recent rut in form for the Reds since their last league game, plenty still remains to fight for and they will be expected to pick up all three points at Anfield under the lights on derby night.
Arsenal know that they must win every remaining Premier League fixture to remain within having a fighting chance of catching Liverpool, with Fulham first in the potential firing line.
It is also important to mention that Mikel Arteta’s side gain an advantage in playing first for the next six gameweeks, which could shape for an interesting narrative.
The Gunners have the second-best home record behind Liverpool, having each lost one each, but have drawn four more than the league leaders.
Ahead of the clash with London rivals, Fulham, this Tuesday, Arsenal will be boosted by the return of key players, therefore we expect them to just find a way to win, despite their visitors’ good away form.
Predicted: Liverpool and Arsenal win.
GAMEWEEK 31
Fulham vs Liverpool
Everton vs Arsenal
The following weekend will come as a reverse to the midweek games as Liverpool travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham.
In the reverse fixture, Andy Robertson recieved an early red card, but the Reds managed to claw a 2-2 draw out of a disappointing performance at Anfield, with Diogo Jota levelling for Liverpool after falling behind to Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz.
The Reds’ away record against Fulham is one win and one draw in only two league matches since their promotion in 2022, but in recent history they hold the edge, with four wins from their last six visits, dating back to May 2013.
We predict Liverpool to just edge out the Cottagers in what will be a tough test, but the gulf in quality will prevail.
As for Arsenal, they make a hostile trip over to Everton and Goodison Park for a Saturday lunchtime kick-off.
Since David Moyes’ return to the Toffees, he has picked up nine points from a possible eighteen at home, following just ten from their previous twenty-seven available under Sean Dyche.
The Gunners may have one eye on their crucial UEFA Champions League Quarter-Final tie with Real Madrid which follows their trip to Everton, therefore that could cause a slip-up in this one, and if history is anything to go by then Goodison Park isn’t a happy place for Arsenal either, winning just two of their last six.
Predicted: Liverpool win, Arsenal draw.
GAMEWEEK 32
Liverpool vs West Ham
Arsenal vs Brentford
The Reds will then play host to West Ham United at Anfield in the middle of April, following Arsenal’s home clash versus another London team in Brentford.
Last time out against the Hammers, Liverpool romped to a 5-0 away victory in December and have won their last seven Anfield clashes between the sides in the Premier League, all by an aggregate score of 18-5.
West Ham , currently sixteenth, but sit seventeen points away from safety with nine games to go and are almost guaranteed to stay in the top-flight for another season.
Under new boss Graham Potter, they have taken eleven points from nine matches, and Liverpool should be too strong at home, seeing a routine victory.
Arsenal will welcome Brentford to the Emirates following their UEFA Champions League exploits in the Santiago Bernabeu and a second-leg encounter with Real Madrid.
The midweek result could either fuel extra confidence or reel in the despair.
Although, at home, the Gunners are usually comfortable victors and should have enough to see off the Bees who pose a terrible away record this season.
Predicted: Liverpool and Arsenal win.
GAMEWEEK 33
Leicester vs Liverpool
Ipswich vs Arsenal
Liverpool could travel to Leicester City knowing that three points will crown them Premier League champions, if Arsenal are to drop points beforehand.
The Reds were 3-1 winners when the sides met at Anfield on Boxing Day and whilst they face a Foxes’ side in current disarray under former Manchester United man, Ruud van Nistelrooy, the scoreline could be even uglier.
Leicester have conceded thirty-five goals since Van Nistelrooy took charge in December, the Premier League’s second worst defence and the Liverpool attackers could thrive off this.
We expect the Reds to be on top-form to clinch the Premier League title with a demolition job against a relegation-threatened side, whose fate could already be sealed.
Arsenal are in action earlier in the day against Ipswich Town, a game which will have implications at both ends of the Premier League table.
Every side will be hoping atleast one of the four teams can grant them a favour, whether that will be a sucker punch in the title race or a glimmer of hope in the relegation battle.
Despite this, the heavy favourites should come away from Portman Road with a comfortable Arsenal victory and by quite a few goals, potentially condemning the Tractor Boys’ towards the Championship ahead of next season.
Predicted: Liverpool and Arsenal win.
Liverpool are Premier League Champions!
GAMEWEEK 34
Liverpool vs Tottenham
Arsenal vs Crystal Palace
With four games to go, Liverpool will host Tottenham Hotspur in what we are predicting to become the first of four guard of honours that they will recieve as champions.
Games between Liverpool and Tottenham always turn out to be classics as seen last December with the Reds running riot in a goal-crazy thriller, winning 6-3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The meetings at Anfield always seem to have that extra needle, too with 4-2 and 4-3 victories being the most recent scorelines towards the Reds, of course!
We expect this game to be no different with Liverpool edging another thriller.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates.
The Gunners have won their last three home meetings with the Eagles and despite the disappointment of missing out on the league title for another season, they should be able to roll out another three points.
Predicted: Liverpool and Arsenal win.
GAMEWEEK 35
Chelsea vs Liverpool
Arsenal vs Bournemouth
Liverpool make the trip to Stamford Bridge in the first week of May, to pit off against an old foe.
Chelsea will ultimately still have something on the line by time this game comes around and the Reds could be ‘on the beach’, if they are to wrap the league title up a number of week’s before this fixture.
Historically, Stamford Bridge has always been a difficult place to go for Liverpool and we are going to side with an entertaining score draw.
The Gunners will face Bournemouth in what looks to be an exciting encounter, on paper.
On their day, Bournemouth can prove a good a test for most teams and claimed a scalp of their upcoming opponents, earlier in the season, a 1-0 home victory.
We think that Arsenal will come unstuck against the Cherries once more, but gain on more point than in the reverse encounter.
Predicted: Liverpool and Arsenal draw.
GAMEWEEK 36
Liverpool vs Arsenal
REUTERS/Dylan Martinez.
This will finally be the week where the Premier League’s two-best sides are facing each other at Anfield, resulting in the Arsenal applauding their rivals with a guard-of-honour.
It is anticipated to be a gruelling contest with both sides wanting to get one over on the other, but we can see a fiery contest with nothing to separate them, just like the reverse fixture which ended 2-2.
Predicted: Draw.
GAMEWEEK 37
Brighton vs Liverpool
Arsenal vs Newcastle
Liverpool are at the AMEX Stadium for the penultimate Premier League fixture of the campaign.
Their unbeaten streak away from home could remain at stake in this one, and the Reds would not want to lose it on the final away day.
Two victories in their last five visits to the AMEX for Liverpool, although, we do expect Arne Slot’s to edge past Brighton by the odd-goal.
Arsenal will face off against their Carabao Cup eliminators, Newcastle, who have become quite a bogey side for the Gunners.
Newcastle have picked up three victories over Arsenal this season including the two-legs in the cup semi-final, without conceding.
(1-0, 2-0, 2-0)
The same pattern could happen again with the Magpies gaining a psychological edge after recent results and they may just prevail at the Emirates again.
Predicted: Liverpool win, Arsenal lose.
GAMEWEEK 38
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace
Southampton vs Arsenal
On the final day, Liverpool will be at Anfield to host Crystal Palace.
The two teams are no strangers to meeting in the same scenario, as they did in 2021-22.
Whilst it is very likely that there will be absolutely zero to play for by time the fixtures comes around, Liverpool will undoubtedly want to finish the season on a high, and whilst Crystal Palace will probably be circulating around mid-table, this could well be a routine victory on the day that they will finally be able to lift the Premier League title.
Same can be said for Arsenal, when they will be facing off against what is almost certain to be an already-relegated Southampton, and Derby County’s lowest points tally in a single Premier League season could be beaten.
The Gunners are expected to sweep aside the Saints with relative ease, but will feel a sense of disappointment around what could’ve been.
Predicted: Liverpool and Arsenal win.
OUR FINAL STANDINGSGoal difference is not taken into consideration in this calculator and has remained at live point.
Credit: WorldFootball.Net – PL Table Calculator.
If our predictions turn out to be correct, Liverpool will become Premier League champions with a total of 93 points, whilst just dropping four points in their remaining fixtures.
(W7, D2)
Meanwhile, Arsenal, will finish on 76, picking up a points sum of eighteen from a possible twenty-seven on offer.
(W5, D3, L1)
The Reds will win the league at a canter, by an astounding seventeen points.
Despite a recent stumbling block for Liverpool, whatever happens between now and the season end should result in Virgil van Dijk becoming the first Dutchman to captain a team to a Premier League title and Arne Slot ending his debut campaign with silverware.
