Carsley's six-game caretaker spell ended in style as his side beat the Republic of Ireland 5-0 at Wembley to ensure their return to the top flight of the Nations League.
Bellingham was instrumental in the win, claiming three assists in a man-of-the-match performance which had everything but a goal of his own.
The Real Madrid star cut a frustrated figure at times during the summer's European Championship as England got to the final and he has paid tribute to Carsley for helping him enjoy international football again.
"Huge thanks to Lee and his staff for their work in these last few camps," Bellingham wrote on his Instagram story.
"Got my smile back in an England shirt, very grateful!!"
Carsley, who worked with Bellingham at Under-21 level, has been impressed with his player's leadership skills.
He said: "He always plays with responsibility.
Lee will now return to the Under-21s and will continue to play a vital role supporting the seniors by developing England’s best young players.
"His leadership and coaching gives us the best possible chance of back-to-back U21 EURO wins next summer, and he will continue to play a big part in elite football development across the FA."

Hungary coach Adam Szalai has posted a brief but positive message on social media after collapsing during Saturday's Nations League defeat to the Netherlands.
The Group A3 encounter in Amsterdam was halted for more than 10 minutes early in the game after Szalai was taken ill, with a medical tent erected around the dugout before the 36-year-old was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
The Hungarian Football Federation said on Saturday night that Szalai was 'stable and he is conscious' and on Sunday the former Hungary striker posted a positive message on Facebook.
Szalai said: "Thanks for the lots of messages, I'm doing well."
Hungary's players were visibly shaken by the incident and captain, Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai was in tears on the pitch.
Soon after the match had restarted, Hungary fell behind to Wout Weghorst's penalty and Cody Gakpo also scored from the spot in first-half stoppage time before Denzel Dumfries and Teun Koopmeiners completed the scoring in a 4-0 loss.
Szalai, who scored 26 goals in 86 appearances for Hungary before retiring as a player in 2022, joined Hungary's coaching staff under head coach Marco Rossi in October.

There are no plans for Paul Pogba to train at Manchester United, talkSPORT understands.
Pogba reached a mutual agreement with Juventus to terminate his contract with the Serie A giants.
The former Manchester United midfielder, whose Juve deal was set to expire in 2026, did not reveal his next destination, though the 31-year-old has been linked to Inter Miami.
Pogba was handed a four-year doping ban - following an initial suspension - in March, but can now resume playing next March after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) last month reduced his punishment to 18 months.
He will be a free agent on November 30 when his Juve contract ends.
Rumours had circulated that he could head back to Carrington to train, but this is understood to be wide of the mark.

Lee Carsley won't be thinking about himself tomorrow night as he focuses on securing promotion for England.
While it'll be the final match of his interim spell as senior team head coach, Carsley is hoping to secure top spot in Group B2 to see the Three Lions into the top tier of the competition.
Level on points with Greece with a superior goal difference, Carsley knows that victory over Ireland will likely be needed to see the job completed.
“In terms of the future, my priority is making sure that we get the job done tomorrow,” Carsley said.
“Fully respectful of Ireland and the strengths that they have, so we have to make sure that we approach the game properly.”

Ruud van Nistelrooy would be 'perfect' as West Ham manager, according to talkSPORT co-host Rory Jennings.
Van Nistelrooy now departed Manchester United after winning three of his four matches in charge as interim manager.
But if I have to say one thing, my main goal, my first goal, it is identity."
Amorim also discussed what was said between him and the club, revealing: "We want to do something special in a special club - that was a key point.
"When Manchester United told me about their plans, you get excited.
"We know if the team plays well and wins games, everything looks so much better and the people really start to believe in the new stadium and new ideas.
"It's a real honour that I was the first choice to start that path."

Olympique Lyonnais have been provisionally relegated from Ligue 1 due to their ongoing financial issues, talkSPORT understands.
The French club have also been given a transfer ban after racking up more than £500million in debt.
According to talkSPORT's Ben Jacobs, the club were due to appear before France’s financial football watchdog, the DNCG, on Friday morning to discuss the future of its operations.
The club, whose majority owner is Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor, were confident they could convince the DNCG that Lyon will be in a better financial situation come the end of the season.
French outlet L'Equipe reports chiefs were going to detail the potential sale of players from their stock or that of their Brazilian club Botafogo, as well as the sale of Eagle Group’s 45 per cent share in Crystal Palace, to the DNCG.
Now, though, the club have been handed severe sanctions, with them needing to generate £91m in revenue before the end of the season to avoid relegation.
