Ange Postecoglou has admitted that Timo Werner was fit and available last weekend - but was left out of the Spurs squad.
The German has struggled for fitness and form this season, with his only goal in 26 appearances coming in the Carabao Cup.
Ironically, that came against Tottenham's next opponents Manchester City, but in the Premier League, where Werner has drawn a blank.
The ex-Chelsea striker has notched just three assists with zero goals in his 17 top-flight outings this campaign.
Asked about his absence for the win over Ipswich on Saturday, Postecoglou said: "He was only really available for the weekend, but because of the make-up of the squad, I put in Sergio Reguilon as another defender.
He has trained and is available for tomorrow."

It appears as if Tottenham Hotspur's injury woes are starting to ease.
Spurs have won three consecutive league games and have welcomed James Maddison and Brennan Johnson and Destiny Udogie back in recent weeks.
However, they've still been without a few key players, including Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke.
But that could be about to change.
Speaking ahead of facing Manchester City, Ange Postecoglou had a positive injury update.
Yes, Spurs fans, you read that right.
Speaking to the club's official Twitter page, he said: "The lads are tracking really well [Solanke, Van de Ven and Cristian Romero].
"They are all sort of seven to ten days away, and a couple of them are already training.
"I am hoping to incorporate them into matchday squads."

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has refused to concede the title race is over.
After a 1-0 defeat to West Ham and a win for Liverpool over Manchester City, the Gunners are 11 points behind the Reds.
And ahead of facing Nottingham Forest, Arteta has issued a clear view that he doesn't think it's all over.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: "Over my dead body.
"If not, I go home.
"Mathematically, it is possible.
We are there, and we have to continue."

It's been a going a bit wrong for Chelsea in recent weeks and months.
At one point, they looked to be in the title race, now they might not even be in the race for Champions League football.
However, a home game against Southampton represents the perfect chance to turn things around.
And they are set to be boosted by the return of Wesley Fofana.
The French centre-back has been out since the start of December with a hamstring injury.
In that time, the Blues have lost five league games, while before that, they'd only lost one he started.
So, his return could prove to be a critical point in them turning their season around.

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has provided a very positive injury update on Sven Botman.
The Dutchman suffered an ACL in March 2024 and only just returned to action for the Toon near the end of last year.
However, after helping Newcastle make the Carabao Cup final with a 4-0 aggregate win over Arsenal, he suffered another knee problem.
But Howe has revealed that he has a very good chance of being involved on Wednesday against Liverpool at Anfield.
Joelinton has also been out for the Magpies, but he could play some part as well.
Sandro Tonali was only fit enough to be a substitute at the weekend, but came on for 20 minutes and Howe has revealed he is also fine.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: "Sandro came through fine, I anticipate he will be fully fit for Wednesday.
It will take a while before he is back."

talkSPORT understands that Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi's red card from the weekend has been upheld.
The Ukrainian international was initially shown a yellow card for a tackle on Rayan Ait-Nouri.
The referee was sent to the screen by VAR to have a look, and the card was upgraded to a red.
In the tackle, Zabarnyi made contact with the ball, but he was also high on his man.
Either way, it proved to be a controversial decision, and the Cherries submitted an appeal.
However, it appears as if it has been rejected, meaning he will serve a three-match ban, starting tonight against Brighton.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca said he is 'more sure' than ever that his side are on the right track despite their chastening slump down the Premier League table.
Tuesday's meeting with Southampton at Stamford Bridge sees them seeking just a third league win in 11 matches that would, for 24 hours at least, hoist them back into the top four and give the 45-year-old room to breathe.
The manner of Chelsea's last three defeats has been particularly dispiriting.
Good luck MO you little dancer."

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has claimed he is not concerned by Cole Palmer's form or body language.
The 22-year-old England star has not scored in any of his past six matches in all competitions.
He has also not registered an assist in any of his past 13 matches.
That has coincided with Chelsea's run of two wins in 10 matches in all competitions, but Maresca has insisted he is unfazed.
Ahead of the Blues' clash with Premier League strugglers Southampton, he said: "No, I am not concerned about him.
"I am always concerned about general performances but not Cole because Cole is a human being and always during a season he can have some moments where he struggles a little bit more.
"Every game we expect a goal or an assist, but it is difficult.
"But no, nothing's changed."
