WHAT A GREAT GAME!

The ball is played into James McAtee, and he clips a cross to the far post.

Kevin De Bruyne heads it back in the direction of Ilkay Gundogan.

He takes a swipe at fresh air, and the ball drops for Omar Marmoush, and he buries the strike into the bottom corner.

This has been an excellent match.

THEY NEEDED THAT!

Daichi Kamada gives a free-kick away around 25 yards from goal.

Kevin De Bruyne steps up, whips his effort over the wall.

It clips the inside of the post before nestling in the back of the net, and it is game on.

That is De Bruyne's 107th goal for the Citizens, and it could be the last.

Palace have the ball in the back of the net again, but it's not going to count!

Again, it's so easy, as Ismaila Sarr spots Eberechi Eze on the left.

He whips the ball into the forward's path, and he takes a touch inside past one player.

Eze then picks out the bottom corner with a delightful finish, but he is offside in the build-up.

Very close to one back!

Kevin De Bruyne finds space on the edge of the box and goes for goal.

It's an excellent effort from the Belgian that beats Dean Henderson and rattles the woodwork.

It comes back out to Omar Marmoush, but he can't guide his shot on target.

THAT IS SO EASY!

Chris Richards has doubled Crystal Palace's lead, and it is so straightforward.

Adam Wharton delivers an inswinging corner from the right.

Ederson can't get there, and the American makes contact from three yards and heads home.

The Eagles are soaring at the Etihad.

That is the 15th set-piece goal of the season for Palace, which means they become the first team in the Premier League to do so, beating self-proclaimed set-piece kings Arsenal.

What a save!

The hosts break through a brilliant Rico Lewis pass, and Omar Marmoush is played in.

The Egyptian has Chris Richards at his back and the defender reaches out and grabs the forward very lightly.

Marmoush still gets a shot away that Dean Henderson smothers.

Man City want a penalty, but if that's a spot kick, we may as well pack up and go home.

WHAT A START!

Not even ten minutes on the clock, and Crystal Palace have the lead, and it's so easy.

Daniel Munoz turns one around the corner for Ismaila Sarr.

The Senegalese winger doesn't even take a touch, he just rolls a perfect ball across the box.

It is begging to be put away, and there is Eberechi Eze to tap in.

There is a VAR check, but Ruben Dias is keeping his man onside, so the goal stands.

It's been a lively start at the Etihad, with both teams going close.

First, Daniel Munoz got down the right and delivered an early cross.

Jean-Philippe Mateta was unmarked in the area as he connected with a glancing header that just skimmed past the far post.

Down the other end, on his first Premier League start for the club, James McAtee has fired one straight at Dean Henderson.

It was a nice ball into the box, and from a tight angle, he volleyed a strike that was easy for the Palace shot-stopper to deal with.

We are underway at the Etihad stadium, and it is a glorious day in Manchester.

This is a big game for City in the race for Champions League football.

If they win, they will jump up to fourth, but if they lose, they could find themselves a bit adrift by the end of the weekend.

Meanwhile, for Palace, a late European charge certainly isn't out of the question.

Manchester City and Crystal Palace are gearing up for their 12.30pm kick-off at the Etihad in Saturday's early encounter.

The Citizens know victory will see them enter the top four to give them a huge boost in their Champions League qualification hopes.

As for the Eagles, a win would see them sit just two points off a Europa Conference League spot.

With Erling Haaland remaining out injured, January arrival Omar Marmoush leads City''s line in his absence.

Pep Guardiola is also without Phil Foden, who has been left out of the squad due to fitness concerns.

While Jean-Philippe Mateta is once again preferred over Eddie Nketiah in the Palace line-up.

Here's how the two teams look going into the match.

Manchester United icon Teddy Sheringham believes Cristiano Ronaldo would jump at the chance to join Manchester City.

The 40-year-old is set to become a free agent with his contract at Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr soon to be coming to an end.

And with it remaining to be seen if he stays on in the Gulf nation, Sheringham was posed the question as to whether City should look to sign him for this summer's Club World Cup with Erling Haaland currently out injured.

Ronaldo had come close to linking up at the Etihad in 2021, only to return to Old Trafford.

Speaking to Casino Apps about Ronaldo's situation, Sheringham said: "I mean, Man United fans wouldn’t be happy.

"If the figures add up, Ronaldo would probably jump at the chance.

That would be funny.

"I bet if you offered him the chance to go to Man City, he would bite your hand off."

Declan Rice can be England's greatest midfielder of his generation following his heroics in Arsenal's 3-0 win over Real Madrid.

That's the view of Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, who has waxed lyrical over the Three Lions star after his free-kick double midweek.

Writing in his Telegraph column, Carragher said: "I have always said Rice has the potential to be the great English midfielder of his generation, and he showed why.

"Too often he seems to be criticised for not scoring or creating enough goals, when that is not his primary function.

"He does not play in the same attacking midfield position as Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard in their prime.

"To me, Rice has always been more of a Roy Keane, who scored 57 across his 473 senior club games.

'If Arsenal go through, Rice’s contribution over both legs will rightly be as revered by his supporters as much as Keane’s for United against Juventus in 1999."

Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali has been named in an investigation undertaken by Italian authorities into illegal online gambling.

According to La Repubblica, a group of 12 players including Tonali, Weston McKennie, Junior Firpo and Angel Di Maria have been implicated in the scandal.

It is alleged the players used unlicensed platforms to place bets, but there is no accusation any of the wagers were placed on football matches.

The alleged activity came to light during the wider investigation that saw Tonali and Fiorentina's Nicolo Fagioli hit with bans for gambling violations.

Despite being named, The Times reports Newcastle are unconcerned with Tonali facing any sanctions given the investigation relates to the original case which led to the Italian copping a 10-month ban from football.

Kieran McKenna intends to stay at Ipswich once their seemingly inevitable relegation to the Championship is confirmed.

Defeat at home to Wolves last weekend saw the team's slim hopes of beating the drop further dimmed as they threw away a half-time lead against the side placed 17th in the Premier League to slip 12 points adrift with seven games to go.

McKenna, who was linked with a number of high-profile jobs last summer after leading Ipswich from League One to the top flight in consecutive seasons, has seen his team's form collapse in recent months.

Since drawing with Manchester United and beating Tottenham in back-to-back matches in November, they have lost 14 out of 19 in the league including nine of their last 11.

Asked whether he would stay at Portman Road if the team are relegated, McKenna said: "The short answer is yes.

"I'm still happy here.

I think it's a club that's on the up, irrespective of a possible, you can say a probable, backward step this year."

Andre Onana's week from hell looks like it's set to take another twist.

The Sun reports Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is pondering whether to take Onana out of the starting line-up for the Red Devils' clash against Newcastle United on Sunday.

Onana had moments to forget in the first leg of United's Europa League quarter-final against Lyon, as he was largely at fault for the French side's two goals in the 2-2 draw.

The Cameroonian's errors came after he engaged in a war of words with Lyon midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Speaking after the match, Amorim insisted he would not take a player out of his line-up 'for making mistakes'.

However, with United's hopes of qualifying for European football next season resting on winning the Europa League, Amorim may be tempted to give Onana a mental breather.

The report claims Amorim is set to make a number of changes for Sunday's clash and Onana could be one of them, with back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir firmly in contention to start against the Magpies.

When asked whether changes would be afoot for the game against Newcastle, Amorim said: “Sometimes winning games is the best way of preparing for the next one.

“But of course, I am going to be careful with some players but again we need to be competitive.

“We will make this evaluation with all the staff and all the data that we have.

“Then, because we know already the players, we will try to protect the ones that it will be hard to make a lot of games.”

Mathys Tel could be set to stick around north London a little while longer, but not on a permanent deal.

According to Sky Sports Germany, Tottenham are 'happy' with how Tel has played and are keen to re-negotiate the existing deal for the Frenchman with Bayern Munich.

As it stands, Tottenham have the option to sign Tel on a permanent basis at the end of the season but are reluctant to trigger the purchase option, which is reported to be between between €50million (£43m) and €55 million (£47m).

The report adds Tel 'has no future' at Bayern while Vincent Kompany remains in charge.

Tel has registered two goals from 10 appearances for Ange Postecoglou's side since he joined in January.

His first goal came as a late consolation in a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Tel netted his second when he scored from the spot in a 3-1 win over Southampton last Sunday.

talkSPORT understands that Newcastle United are ready to rival Manchester United for Matheus Cunha.

The Magpies have made contact with the Brazilian's camp ahead of a potential summer move.

The Wolves star has a £62.5 million release clause in the deal he signed earlier this year, which had led to Man United registering their interest.

Nottingham Forest and Arsenal are also keen on the versatile forward.

However, Newcastle appear to have made the first move to secure Cunha's signature.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Vinai Venkatesham as the club's new Chief Executive Officer.

Venkatesham is best known for his time at Arsenal in the same role from 2020 to 2024.

He is set to join the Spurs board in the summer, and he can't wait to get going.

Speaking to the Tottenham website, he said: “I’m excited to be joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

"I am personally delighted that he has agreed to join our board as we build for success.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice are fit to face Brentford on Saturday.

Saka started his first game since December in midweek against Real Madrid and turned in an excellent performance as the Gunners thrashed Los Blancos 3-0.

The winger did limp off before the end after being kicked.

Meanwhile, Declan Rice was the hero for Arsenal as he scored two wonderful free-kicks before also being withdrawn after taking a whack.

But should Arteta decide to play them, they are fit.

Riccardo Calafiori is also edging closer to a return.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: “With Dec and Bukayo, they're both fit.

"You'd like to think that everyone within our camp is working with us rather than against us."

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is determined not to get too carried away after the Gunners' 3-0 win over Real Madrid.

The home side produced one of their great European displays to batter Los Blancos.

But attention is firmly on Brentford before any thoughts about next week.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: "That's over.

"Now, it is full focus on Brentford because this is a game that is going to require the best of us."

Regarding rotation, he said: Our reality is that we play every three days.

"You want to become a team that has the capacity to win any of those, and we have to do it every three days."

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been speaking about the incident involving Jack Grealish after the derby last weekend.

After the 0-0 draw at Old Trafford, Grealish was allegedly slapped by Alfie Holt.

A 20-year-old Man United fan, who has been banned and charged with assault.

And ahead of City's game against Crystal Palace on talkSPORT, the Spaniard spoke about it.

He said: "It's a crazy world - not just in sport.

"There are issues, but it's not about [Manchester] United.

It is about that person who doesn't defend what United is or what they stand for.

"But it's not about the club.

"If you take a look around, I think you will realise we are not on the right path.

"He doesn't feel good, but we move forward."

Coincidentally, David Moyes has just given an update on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fitness in his pre-match press conference.

Calvert-Lewin, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, is 'out on the grass and training well'.

However, Moyes admitted it would be at least another three weeks before he could think about a return.

That's at least a more positive update for Everton fans than the one for his teammate Jesper Lindstrom.

Moyes said: “Jesper has had a hernia operation yesterday, that’ll rule Jesper out, probably, for most of the season now.”

Vitaly Mykolenko and Dwight McNeil are both in training but not expected to start the away match against Nottingham Forest.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin's representatives have reportedly contacted Newcastle United to see if they would be interested in a summer move for the striker.

DCL's deal at Everton expires in two months, and there are no talks over a new one, meaning as it stands, he would be a free agent.

Eddie Howe and the scouting team at St James' Park are known to be admirers of Calvert-Lewin and have long been linked with a move.

They even attempted a PSR-busting swap deal last year, but it fell through.

However, The Chronicle report the striker's agents have reached out to establish if the Magpies would be keen on the former Sheffield United man.

Callum Wilson looks likely to leave Tyneside this summer, so Calvert-Lewin could be a cheap backup for Alexander Isak.
