DIAZ GETS A BIT OF LUCK BUT HE WON'T CARE!

Restored to his favoured left-wing position amid Cody Gakpo's injury, the Colombian has ended his recent goal drought.

It comes from Diaz's own cross for Mohamed Salah but the Egyptian's first touch is a poor one that ricochets into a dangerous area.

Toti helps it on and Diaz is first to it at the far post - it bounces off his chest on the fall which takes it past the onrushing Jose Sa.

Díaz has scored his first goal of 2025 in all competitions, ending a run of 10 games without scoring for Liverpool.

The winger has netted nine goals in the Premier League this season, his best-ever return in a campaign in the competition, whilst overall that was his 25th strike in England's top-flight.

Carragher told Sky Sports: ""Liverpool get a little bit of luck, and it's probably the only thing he can score with, Luis Diaz.

Subs: Bentley, Bueno, Munetsi, Traore, Doyle, Forbs, Bellegarde, Djiga, Lima.

Man United starlet Sekou Kone has seemingly confirmed he has been called up to the senior squad for the first time.

United are struggling with a number of fresh injuries and could fill their bench with academy stars for the trip to Tottenham.

One of those looks likely to be 19-year-old Kone, who posted on Instagram.

The midfielder joined United in August from Guidars FC.

Kobbie Mainoo will miss Man United's trip to Tottenham on Sunday.

The midfielder has suffered an injury in training and is expected to be out for at least two weeks.

This follows the news that Amad Diallo faces several weeks out follow an ankle ligament injury.

Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer are also major doubts.

Mikel Merino promised to keep doing whatever Arsenal need after overcoming his initial shock at being thrown on as a makeshift striker to score a match-winning double at Leicester.

The club's failure to bring in a striker during the January transfer window was quickly compounded by losing top scorer Kai Havertz to a season-ending hamstring injury.

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli are also out, meaning Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta deployed a makeshift front three that required a rejig as the Premier League title-chasers sought to find a way past lowly Leicester.

Arteta took the bold decision to bring on Merino in place of Raheem Sterling in the 69th minute and the Spain midfielder responded with an impressive brace that sealed a late 2-0 triumph.

"It was crazy for me to come on the pitch in that position," the summer signing told club media.

"It was a really, really difficult game against a good side and the pressure was on us.

"But this game is about small details sometimes, about who's more precise in the last metres.

"We were clinical in those last 20 minutes with me trying to make an impact in the box and with my team-mates just putting in some amazing balls.

"We won the game and I'm really, really, really happy."

It's been a big day of action across the Premier League with important results at all ends of the table.

Bournemouth are now just one point away from the Champions League places, while Everton's win over Crystal Palace sees them leapfrog Manchester United and Tottenham.

Meanwhile, a ten-man Ipswich's gritty draw against Aston Villa kept them within touching distance of safety.

There's still plenty of movement in the table to be had tomorrow.

The David Moyes effect is real.

Everton have picked up a huge three points against Crystal Palace, with goals from Beto and Carlos Alcaraz doing the business at Selhurst Park.

The victory means Moyes' side are unbeaten in their last five league games.

In that run, the Toffees have four wins and just one draw.

Palace may have felt hard done by with the result as they had a goal ruled out in the first half after the linesman deemed a corner had gone out before it came back in.

But they could not find a way past Jordan Pickford for a second time, leaving Everton fans with a very happy journey back home to Merseyside.

With 80 minutes gone Everton might have just found themselves a winner!

The Argentine star has slotted home from close range after a shot from Ashley Young was deflected.

Alcaraz then put the ball under Dean Henderson before heading off to celebrate in the style of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The celebration may have been questionable, but what a big goal that will be if it takes the Toffees level on points with Crystal Palace.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Palace have equalised and it's their French marksman, Jean-Philippe Mateta.

After a bit of pin-ball inside Everton's box, Marc Guehi kicked the ball over his head and into the path of Mateta.

The Frenchman coolly slotted home past Jordan Pickford.

A lengthy VAR check for offside followed, but Toffees left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko ultimately kept Mateta onside by what appeared to be millimetres.

Mateta now has seven goals in his last six league games.

He is also now Palace's second-top scorer in the Premier League alongside Christian Benteke.

DISASTER AT THE BACK FOR PALACE!

Tyrick Mitchell had a throw-in on the left and laid it in the direction of Jefferson Lerma.

But Lerma had no idea the ball was being thrown to him as he was looking off into the distance, allowing Carlos Alcaraz to nip in and win the ball.

It sparked a two-on-one for Everton as Alcaraz drove towards goal with Beto running in support.

The Argentine picked the perfect moment to lay the ball to Beto and the Brazilian made no mistake from close range.

He was, however, aided by the fact Palace defender Daniel Munoz took out goalkeeper Dean Henderson while trying to make the block.

A calamitous sequence of events for Palace, but Everton are a goal to the good!

Troy Deeney has torn into Southampton defender Jan Bednarek after an abysmal display in a 3-1 loss to Bournemouth.

Bednarek was at the heart of the Saints' defence but simply could not handle the Cherries' electric attack as Dango Ouattara, Ryan Christie and Marcus Tavernier got on the scoresheet.

So poor was Bednarek, Deeney - who retired in 2024 - believed he could still run rings around the Pole in a brutal takedown.

"And finally, the big centre-half, Bednarek," Deeney, who was on commentary duties at St Mary's for talkSPORT, said.

"I was running around him three years ago, and I haven't run in a year.

The Premier League 3pms are finished, and there were some big results.

At the Etihad, Manchester City thrashed Newcastle United 4-0, with Omar Marmoush grabbing a hat-trick - his first goals in the Premier League.

There were big wins for Fulham and Bournemouth, who managed to see off Nottingham Forest and Southampton, respectively.

The Cottagers beat Forest 2-1, while the Cherries sealed a 3-1 win at St Mary's.

Elsewhere, ten-man Ipswich sealed what could be a vital point at Villa Park with a 1-1 draw.

And the team who couldn't win away from home, Brentford, sealed their third straight Premier League victory on the road.

GAME OVER!

It has been a relatively quiet second half at the Etihad, but Manchester City have added a fourth against Newcastle.

The Magpies simply can't win at this ground, and this is a very straightforward goal.

A corner comes in, Erling Haaland flicks it on, and there is substitute James McAtee to tap in.

However, we have since lost Haaland.

He limped off, so we'll have to see what happens there.

talkSPORT understands that Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has sustained an ankle ligament injury.

The extent of the damage is unknown as of yet, but he is certainly set to be out for a few weeks.

In that time, the club will assess the damage and see if the winger requires surgery.

It is another injury for Ruben Amorim, which isn't what he needs after losing Kobbie Mainoo and already being without Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Mason Mount.

In a campaign to forget, Diallo has been a rare bright spark for the Red Devils, and he only recently scored a hat-trick in the Premier League against Southampton.

GAME ON!

Marcus Rashford comes inches away from scoring his first goal for Aston Villa, but he sees his effort rock off the crossbar.

It comes back out to Ollie Watkins.

The England international does well to react, and he sticks it in the net.

BACK IN THE LEAD!

Fulham win a corner on the right and the ball is whipped onto Raul Jimenez's head.

He cleverly diverts it to the far post for Calvin Bassey.

The centre-back rises above everyone and arrows his header into the far corner.

ABSOLUTELY MONUMENTAL GOAL!

After losing to Southampton last time out, Ipswich are into the lead against Aston Villa despite being down to ten men.

Omari Hutchinson takes on Ian Maatsen and flashes a delivery into the box.

Liam Delap gets across his man and deftly guides thee ball into the far corner.

That is a massive goal for the Tractor Boys.

That's the end of the first 45 minutes in the Premier League, and it has been crazy.

At the Etihad, Omar Marmoush has scored his first three Premier League goals with a 33-minute hat-trick.

He has blown Newcastle away, who despite cup progress, are slipping towards a third defeat in four in the league.

Elsewhere, Bournemouth are cruising against Southampton thanks to goals from Dango Ouattara and Ryan Christie.

Fulham and Nottingham Forest are locked at 1-1, with Emile Smith Rowe and Chris Wood scoring.

Aston Villa are being held by Ipswich, but the visitors have had Axel Tuanzebe sent off.

Elsewhere, West Ham are trailing to Brentford 1-0 thanks to Kevin Schade's goal.

A FIRST HALF 33-MINUTE HAT-TRICK!

RIDICULOUS!

Savinho gets one-on-one with Lewis Hall and blasts past him.

The Brazilian gets to the byline and picks out Omar Marmoush in the box.

The Egyptian is totally free, and he makes no mistake from close range.

He will be going home with the match ball at the end of this one.

The opening goal this afternoon was his first in the Premier League, and he's already trebled his tally.

The forward joined City in January from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59 million.

Before leaving, he had bagged 15 Bundesliga goals, meaning he was second-top goalscorer behind Harry Kane.

At Villa Park, we have a serious injury as Julio Enciso has left the field in tears.

The Paraguayan international joined Ipswich on loan in January from Brighton after coming back from a serious knee injury.

And judging by his reaction, this is also something very bad.

HE'S AT IT AGAIN!

Ilkay Gundogan carries the ball up the pitch and plays a lovely pass in behind for Omar Marmoush.

In the box, he manages to find space and pulls a clever finish into the near-post corner.

Martin Dubravka might feel he should have saved it, but it was an excellent finish.
