Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is back in training for the Citizens ahead of facing Tottenham.

The striker came off near the end of the 4-0 win over Newcastle United with knee pain after an awkward landing.

He was expected to be fine for City's game against Real Madrid in the Champions League knockout round, but was only fit enough for the bench.

Haaland then sat out the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool entirely.

But he has been seen back in training today, so will be in contention to play some part tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola also shared an update in his pre-match press conference.

He said: “Tonight, we will know after training.

We’ll see tomorrow.”

Manchester United announced another round of redundancies yesterday after already letting some staff go last year.

This is one of numerous unpopular decisions that have happened since Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquired a minority stake in the club.

The British billionaire has been handed full control of the football side of the club, but it hasn't worked as of yet.

And with some fans starting to get angry, Alex Crook has pinned the blame back on the Glazers.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "The reason that Manchester United have had to make these cuts is because of the Glazers.

"The interest payments on the loan the Glazers took out to buy Manchester United has now topped £1 billion.

"They are shutting down the canteen at the Carrington, which will save £1 million a year, which is a drop in the ocean compared to the interest payments.

"The Glazers have lined their own pockets, and the team has got worse.

"The stadium and training ground have been allowed to rot, so I feel a little bit for Ratcliffe and INEOS."

Newcastle United boss was full of praise for Lewis Miley and even compared the young midfielder to Steven Gerrard.

The 18-year-old broke through into the Newcastle first team last season and impressed in some huge games for the club.

Unfortunately, he suffered an injury near the end of the campaign and then picked up a setback, which has limited his involvement this season.

However, with Joelinton out and Sandro Tonali not fit enough to start at the weekend, Miley got his chance and shone in a 4-3 win for Newcastle.

He scored just his third goal for the club and was a contender for Man of the Match, and ahead of facing Liverpool, Howe paid him the ultimate compliment by comparing Miley to one of the all-time great Premier League midfielders.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: "He has the look of a guy in his early 20s.

We are there, and we have to continue."

It's been a going a bit wrong for Chelsea in recent weeks and months.

At one point, they looked to be in the title race, now they might not even be in the race for Champions League football.

However, a home game against Southampton represents the perfect chance to turn things around.

And they are set to be boosted by the return of Wesley Fofana.

The French centre-back has been out since the start of December with a hamstring injury.

In that time, the Blues have lost five league games, while before that, they'd only lost one he started.

So, his return could prove to be a critical point in them turning their season around.

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has provided a very positive injury update on Sven Botman.

The Dutchman suffered an ACL in March 2024 and only just returned to action for the Toon near the end of last year.

However, after helping Newcastle make the Carabao Cup final with a 4-0 aggregate win over Arsenal, he suffered another knee problem.

But Howe has revealed that he has a very good chance of being involved on Wednesday against Liverpool at Anfield.

Joelinton has also been out for the Magpies, but he could play some part as well.

Sandro Tonali was only fit enough to be a substitute at the weekend, but came on for 20 minutes and Howe has revealed he is also fine.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, he said: "Sandro came through fine, I anticipate he will be fully fit for Wednesday.

"Sven is improving and improving quickly, we will see if he makes the game or not, he will be close."

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided a positive injury update on Alexis Mac Allister, but it's not so good for Conor Bradley.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Reds facing Newcastle United, the Dutchman provided a standard squad review.

He revealed that Mac Allister should be fine after taking a ball to the face against Manchester City and suffering a facial injury.

However, Bradley is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Slot refused to reveal what the injury is, but it means Trent Alexander-Arnold will have to play every match.

He said: "Alexis will be okay.

It will take a while before he is back."

talkSPORT understands that Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi's red card from the weekend has been upheld.

The Ukrainian international was initially shown a yellow card for a tackle on Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The referee was sent to the screen by VAR to have a look, and the card was upgraded to a red.

In the tackle, Zabarnyi made contact with the ball, but he was also high on his man.

Either way, it proved to be a controversial decision, and the Cherries submitted an appeal.

However, it appears as if it has been rejected, meaning he will serve a three-match ban, starting tonight against Brighton.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca said he is 'more sure' than ever that his side are on the right track despite their chastening slump down the Premier League table.

Tuesday's meeting with Southampton at Stamford Bridge sees them seeking just a third league win in 11 matches that would, for 24 hours at least, hoist them back into the top four and give the 45-year-old room to breathe.

The manner of Chelsea's last three defeats has been particularly dispiriting.

"But no, nothing's changed."
