Manchester United comfortably beat Southampton 3-0 after completely turning the game around late in the first half.

Cameron Archer's missed penalty led to a collapse from the Saints and Erik ten Hag's side dominated proceedings afterwards.

Goals from Matthijs De Ligt, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho have given the travelling fans a great day out.

The hosts are still without a point after four games now, while Man United have picked up their second win of the season.

Stuart Pearce live on talkSPORT: "The result doesn't tell the whole story but they'll be delighted with it.

"Southampton helped them out by giving them chances and it proved costly eventually."

Man United have wrapped the game up!

Casemiro slots in Diogo Dalot who cuts the ball back to Alejandro Garnacho and he fires into the roof of the net.

"He's coming in without control and it's done in an area of the pitch where he didn't need to do it."

The second half has not been as exciting as the first.

Man United are unbeaten in all of their 186 Premier League games in which they have led by two or more goals at half time (W181 D5).

And the Saints have only won one of their 93 top-flight games that they were losing by two at the break.

So, it's not impossible, but Russell Martin's side have a mountain to climb if they want to get their first points of the season.

Man United will want to build some momentum now and knock some of Southampton's confidence.

Stuart Pearce: "United have had three good chances in a game where they've not had much of the ball so far."

18-year-old Tyler Dibling has the first chance of the game.

He drives at the Manchester United defence on the right wing and cuts in onto his left foot before shooting.

His strike forces Andre Onana into a great save at full stretch!

Southampton have made a great start to this game and have looked really threatening on the ball so far.

Southampton XI: Ramsdale, Sugawara, Bednarek, Stephens, Dibling, Fernandes, Downes, Ugochukwu, Walker-Peters, Brereton-Diaz, Archer

Subs: McCarthy, Taylor, Harwood-Bellis, Lallana, Aribo, Cornet, Fraser, Stewart, Armstrong.

Manchester United kick off this weekend's Premier League action with an away trip to Southampton - and the pressure is already on Erik ten Hag to deliver.

An opening day 1-0 win over Fulham was followed by really poor defeats to Brighton and Liverpool, leaving the Red Devils is desperate need of three points at St Mary's.

If not for the sake of their fans and the confidence of their players, for the future of their manager.

Ten Hag signed a contract extension in July after United bosses chose to keep him in charge despite talks with a number of other coaches - but nobody would have expected his future to come into question just three games into the season.

And the Dutchman has admitted he needs to start winning again to repay the faith shown in him by his superiors - namely Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

“In football you have to win, you have to deliver, that’s clear," said Ten Hag ahead of the lunchtime game - which is LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on talkSPORT.

“It’s good that the new leadership acknowledge this and says this.
