OUT OF NOWHERE, THE MAGPIES HAVE THE LEAD!

Joelinton receives the ball in midfield, rolls his man, and threads a brilliant ball through for Jacob Murphy.

The substitute charges through on goal, he could shoot, but he sees Alexander Isak waiting for a tap-in.

Murphy makes the right decision and squares the ball for the Swede, and he does the rest from four yards, and Isak now has five goals against Tottenham, all scored at St James' Park.

Have the Magpies snatched three points?

THAT IS A CALAMITY AT THE BACK!

Tottenham have been all over Newcastle in the second half, and they have a deserved leveller.

But Nick Pope and Dan Burn won't want to see this one again.

A shot comes in from the right, and Pope could collect, but he parries out to Brennan Johnson.

He slips as he shoots, but he gets the ball over Pope, and Burn rushing back to his line, slams the ball into the back of his own net.

THAT IS STUNNING!

Chelsea fail to clear a free-kick and Adam Wharton plays a ball into the box.

It's cleared as far as Eberechi Eze.

He takes a touch, and lines up a shot.

When he does strike it, the effort bends beautifully into the far corner.

Alexander Isak wastes a great chance at the start of the second half!

Tino Livramento spots the run of the Swede in behind the the Spurs defence.

He times his run to perfection and steams into the box.

He has time to shoot or square for Harvey Barnes, but he takes too long, and Radu Dragusin does well to get back and put Isak off.

We are back underway at St James' Park, and Brennan Johnson has been introduced from the bench.

Pape Mate Sarr has been withdrawn for the Welsh international as Ange Postecoglou looks to get his side back on level terms.

Right, that's the end of the first 45 minutes at St James' Park, and the hosts have the lead.

Harvey Barnes has provided the goal, and it was a delightful finish from Lloyd Kelly's cross.

The visitors have dominated possession, but have only forced Nick Pope into two regulation saves.

Meanwhile, Newcastle look dangerous on the break with Barnes, Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.

Right, that's the end of the first 45 minutes at Stamford Bridge, and the Blues have a 1-0 lead thanks to Nicolas Jackson's goal after great work from Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer.

Since the goal, the Eagles have managed to keep possession of the ball better, but they are yet to carve out a clear chance.

But the Blues also haven't created anything else of note.

Certainly, it's nothing like that ridiculous game at Molineux last weekend.

James Maddison is being booed by the St James' Park faithful.

Heung-min Son plays a ball into the England international, and he is forced out of the box by Dan Burn.

The centre-back accidentally steps on Maddison, who throws himself to the floor in an attempt to win a free-kick.

The referee is having none of it, but Maddison keeps rolling around, and the home fans don't like that at all.

INTO THE TEAM, AND ON THE SCORESHEET!

Harvey Barnes gets his start, and he has a goal!

Lloyd Kelly does very well at left-back to drive in a low cross, and Barnes is in the box.

He opens up his right foot and diverts a lovely effort into the far corner.

Newcastle score with their first shot on target.

TWO IN TWO FOR NICOLAS JACKSON!

Palace lose the ball on the edge of the Chelsea box, and it's played into Noni Madueke.

He bursts past his man on the right, drives to the edge of the box and feeds a pass into Cole Palmer.

Palmer looks up and squares a pass across the six-yard-box for Jackson, who taps in.

Nick Pope called into action for the first time as Pape Mate Sarr forces him into two saves in quick succession.

Dejan Kulusevski feeds a ball into the midfielder on the edge of the box, and he drills in a low shot that the England international solidly blocks.

A few moments later, the Swede plays another pass into Sarr.

This time, he tries a curler, which Pope watches all the way and palms behind for a corner, which Newcastle clear.

But Tottenham are growing into the game.

The Blues are totally dominating this one without creating too many chances.

Cole Palmer has just fired an effort wide of the post, but apart from that, Enzo Maresca's team have struggled to carve out chances.

However, he will be pleased that his side are totally in control of the match, but he'll want to see more from his team in an attacking sense.

We are having a change on the sidelines as the fourth official is set to take over from the assistant referee, who appears to have pulled a muscle.

We have a short stoppage in the game while the change happens.

Ange Postecoglou and Eddie Howe both gather their players and have a few words.

Cristian Romero has the ball in the net, but it's not going to count!

Spurs take a short corner, and the ball is swung onto the head of the Argentine, who is all alone.

He heads beyond Nick Pope, but the offside flag goes up, and the goal is chalked off.

The Magpies go close again!

Anthony Gordon brings down a long ball and slips a pass into Alexander Isak.

He sees Harvey Barnes on the left, and plays the pass into him.

The English winger chops in onto his favoured right foot and bends a strike at goal.

It's a great effort, and it just whistles past the post.

Wow, so close to the Goal of the Season from Alexander Isak!

Radu Dragusin pulls off a great tackle on Harvey Barnes, and Anthony Gordon delivers a corner that Heung-min Son tries to see out the ball on the far side.

Isak pinches his pocket, looks up and sees Guglielmo Vicario off his line.

He tries an audacious chip from out on the right and smacks the crossbar.

Vicario was beaten all ends up.

Ahead of Chelsea's game against Crystal Palace, new man Jadon Sancho has been introduced to the Stamford Bridge crowd.

The England winger has joined the Blues on an initial loan from Manchester United.

But it will turn into an obligation to buy if Chelsea finish inside the top 14.

The price is around £25 million, but Sancho will have plenty of competition for first-team minutes.

After a strong transfer window, Manchester United have won one and lost one of their opening Premier League games.

And with Liverpool in town, the pressure could already start to mount on the Dutchman if the Red Devils lose.

Certainly, that is the view of Gary Neville.

The legendary Man United full-back was speaking on Sky Sports ahead of the game.

He said: "He can't be midtable going into Christmas, they just can't be.

"I think they'll judge him in the next few weeks when all the players are fit.

"Today is a big game, and for Erik ten Hag, it's a game he can't lose."

Of course, today also sees Manchester United welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford.

It will be Arne Slot's first taste of this famous fixture, while Erik ten Hag has done well at home against the Reds in this game.

And ahead of the match, Man United legend Jaap Stam spoke to talkSPORT's Alex Crook.

Crook asked the Dutchman what he thinks the Red Devils need to do to win today, and Stam said: "You know when you're playing a game or playing a team like Liverpool that you need to be aggressive, but also you need to be confident in your own way of playing.

I think that's what United is trying to do as well.

"When you look at the last couple of games that United have been playing as well, they try to play to be more confident on the ball.

I think in what they're trying to do this season already and what they've been showing in the last couple of games, you see progress, you see that things are going more fluently, which is very positive for United and especially in this game as well.

"I think for every game playing against Liverpool, it's a game that everybody wants to show themselves as well and this is the ideal moment for everybody."

Speaking of Nicolas Jackson, he starts this afternoon for Chelsea against Crystal Palace.

He is joined by Pedro Neto.

That is Enzo Maresca's only change from the 6-2 thrashing of Wolves last week.

Axel Disasi also returns to the bench.

Nathaniel Clyne comes into the team for the injured Chadi Riad.

Will Hughes returns from injury and starts in place of Jefferson Lerma, while Odsonne Edouard as joined Leicester on loan, and Daichi Kamada is in for him.

Eddie Nketiah wasn't signed in time to feature, while Trevoh Chalobah is ineligible against his parent club.

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has reportedly agreed a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

talkSPORT understands that the Blues forward's new deal will now expire in 2033, nine years from now.

Chelsea see the Senegalese international as a key player and an important part of their future, and the new contract reflects that.

Jackson is Chelsea's only recognised striker after the club failed to secure a new forward during the transfer window.

However, he has been criticised by Blues icon John Obi Mikel for his shooting power and will need to up his numbers this season.

Right, we have two big Premier League games starting at 1:30pm.

Spurs have endured a combined 10-1 defeat on their last two visits to St James' Park and will be hoping to end that run this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are unbeaten in all competitions since the start of the season but are yet to perform to their true levels.

And Eddie Howe has made one change from his team that secured a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth last weekend as Harvey Barnes comes into the team for Jacob Murphy.

Sandro Tonali is back from his ten-month betting ban and takes his place on the bench.

But for Ange Postecoglou, he's been dealt a big blow, with Micky van de Ven missing out.

Radu Dragusin comes in for him, while Brennan Johnson is replaced by Pape Mate Sarr.

Pep Guardiola joked that not even a defender with a gun could stop Erling Haaland.

Haaland smashed in his eighth Premier League hat-trick as Man City beat West Ham 3-1.

That makes it eight goals already this season in just three games.

“He’s playing much better in everything,” Guardiola said.

Everyone played really good.”

It's all over and the history books have been rewritten.

Erling Haaland's back-to-back hat-tricks mean Man City have scored more than any other Premier League club (43) - leaping ahead of Liverpool.

It also mean Pep Guardiola has broken an astonishing Sir Alex Ferguson record.

Before the arrival of the Spaniard, icon Fergie had amassed a stunning slate of 16 games unbeaten against Charlton - the most by a Premier League manager against a specific team.

But now, by dispatching the Hammers, Guardiola has made it 17 games with out defeat against the east London outfit.

We might be only three games into the season but Man City are putting out a serious statement - they want more!
