Diogo Jota comes very close to bringing Liverpool back into this game, but Bernd Leno saves well.
The Reds haven't won a Premier League game in which they've been 2+ goals down at half time since October 2008 at Manchester City (3-2), losing their 22 such games since.
Southampton have 45 minutes to save their top-flight status, while Chelsea are eyeing an important opener at Brentford.

Spurs are denied a second against Southampton.
Pedro Porro's free-kick is headed back across goal by Cristian Romero and Lucas Bergvall is there to poke home.
That would have been Bergvall's first Premier League goal.
However, after a very long VAR check followed to check for an offside on Romero, it was ruled out.
Southampton are given a lifeline.
